My Toyota Tacoma Trailhunter is getting heavier.

The truck cap is already on. There’s some normal gear in the back. And the overland build is still going to add more permanent weight.

I needed to start thinking about rear suspension support — but I didn’t want to add airbags to this trail build.

So I’m testing Blue -40 SumoSprings on my Toyota Tacoma Trailhunter.

And I put a GoPro underneath the truck, then ran the same deep ditch twice so we can actually WATCH what the spring does on each side during real articulation instead of guessing.

Full test is now live.

A modern Tacoma truck cap creates a problem you didn’t have on older trucks: cameras.

My OPENROAD cap blocks both the factory digital rearview-mirror camera and bed-view camera, so I used ‪@GG.OFFROAD‬’s relocation system—but I did NOT remove the cameras from my Trailhunter.

I bought a second OEM Toyota camera assembly and built the cap around a reversible setup instead.

Full install: brake light + dome light + DRV camera + bed camera + removable wiring.
