Hello! My name is Raquel. Welcome to my channel all about spreading ENTHUSIAM and PRACTICAL tips for Biblical living! I am thankful you are here.
On this channel, you can expect weekly videos where we're having geeky, Biblical chats together or where I'm sharing with you how my family humbly lives out the faith and commandments of Yeshua, our Messiah (Jesus Christ). My desire is to encourage ladies to be godly women and to embrace Yeshua/Jesus and His entire Word in our hearts, homes, and families!
This channel is NOT a theology channel; it is a LIFESTYLE channel. Our family is a Torah pursuant Christian family, meaning we trust in Yeshua/Jesus completely for our salvation. By His grace, we humble ourselves in obedience to His teachings (Torah) as recorded in Genesis-Revelation for our sanctification. You do not have to be completely agreed with my beliefs to be apart of this community, and I will not be discussing/debating doctrinal issues.

It’s chilly here in North Idaho! Last night, we reached frosty temperatures (36*!). Jerusalem by comparison is a perfect 70* ish! That makes me wonder— do you sleep outdoors in your sukkah? We always set up an indoor sukkah, but we do have outside options, too— depending on what the weather will do. Maybe next year we’ll get a heater for our tent. 🤔 What’s your set up look like? Vote & describe it to us in the comments!👇👇

Dear friends,
Chag Sameach Sukkot! May there be much rejoicing in your households this week!!
I can smell the challah in the oven as I type this. We’ve just been busy getting a tent set up for our sukkah. We still have walls, lights, and decorations to add. The kids have already built a “thicket” as their sukkah. We have parties with friends, yummy treat foods (Zevias, vegan s’mores, popcorn, apple dumplings), and fun plans for the week! We’re all so excited about the feast!
But with all the wonderful traditions we place around this feast as we rejoice, I want to *also* remember the substance of it! What has YHVH done? What will He do? What does He want to teach us through this moed?
These are the Most High’s holy days; He wants to meet with us during this time! The “miqra kodesh” (“holy convocation”) is for publicly reading His Word. This is a set apart time of worship (Numbers 29). There is SO MUCH JOY in His presence!!!
So as we build our sukkah with our children, let’s rejoice in YHVH! Let’s talk about Him! Let’s sing praises to Him! Let’s listen to a dramatized Bible retell the story of when the first children dwelled in temporary booths, or the story of Yeshua’s birth, or the story of what will happen at the end of the age!
As we roast vegan s’mores with our friends, let’s talk about all the different things we usually talk about. But let’s also talk about His Word, about living for Him! Let’s pray for one another! Someone get out a guitar and let’s sing to Him!
Partying is fun, but Sukkot is meant to be SO MUCH MORE than a party!! Like we used to say in the church I grew up in (UPCI Pentecostal)— “Ain’t no party like a Holy Ghost party, ‘cause a Holy Ghost party don’t stop.” Hahaha 🤣🤣🤣 That’s exciting!!!
I hope all of you are filled with the warmth and strength that comes from JOY in Adonai! Have a very happy Sukkot!!!
Shalom!!

Hi, ladies!!
We’re all prepped for Yom Kippur here in the Hiller household, in spite of a nasty cold that kept me up nearly all night. 😅 To break our fast tomorrow, I’ve prepped a hash brown, beef sausage, and egg casserole and a coffee cake. Others will bring breakfast items, too.
I’ve spent 40 days of teshuvah, reading and copying Scripture. Today, I am encouraging everyone in the family to apologize to each other and to reconcile issues, if possible, as we go in to the holy day.
The website has free coloring pages for the kids about Yom Kippur! Full disclosure, they are created with AI. (There’s also a free Fall Moedim banner coloring pages printable you can find on the blog that was not created with AI. It’s just something simple for the children to do.)
I pray your Yom Kippur is meaningful and blessed!!
Much shalom and love!

Hello dear friends!
Our family will be keeping Yom Kippur (or Yom haKippurim- Day of the Atonements) beginning Sunday at sunset. It’s such a spiritually significant day, and I pray it’s meaningful for you and your family this year!
Tomorrow, I will be preparing for our Yom Kippur, and you better believe pre making dinner will be at the top of my list! I can’t tell you how stressful it is to realize there’s only an hour left before sunset and the beginning of the fast, and dinner is still cooking in the oven. 😅
Sometimes solutions aren’t profound— they’re just incredibly practical. Haha
I hope your Yom Kippur prep is blessed, and that as you prepare, the meaning of the day is at the forefront of your mind and turns your heart ever closer to the Most High! ❤️
Shalom!

Hi, friends!
Here’s my take on fasting for Yom Kippur while pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum.
This was last year for me, and I did do a complete fast (no food or water), and surprisingly, it was my best fast yet- praise YHVH! Even though I had been struggling with migraines in that pregnancy, I didn’t have a migraine that day! I was shocked! And while so many others were low energy that evening as we prayed before breaking the fast together (which, this is usually me, too!), I had great energy and clarity of mind. Praise YHVH! I don’t know if there’s a hormonal/biological reason for why I would have such a difficult pregnancy and then unexpectedly have a great fast, but I am so thankful to the Most High! I truly believe He was having mercy and compassion on me.
We’re keeping Yom Kippur on Monday. I hope your preparations for Yom Kippur and Sukkot are being blessed!! I have been copying Scriptures about teshuvah, and I just put 3 sourdough pie crusts in the freezer for apple dumplings and pumpkin hand pies for Sukkot! ❤️
Much shalom to you, sisters!!

Dear friends,
A belated happy Yom Teruah! And may your Yom Kippur be blessed, as well!
During the 40 days of Teshuvah (Return) leading up to Yom Kippur, I have been reading various Scriptures about return and restoration. This one has particularly caught my attention.
The context is, of course, Israel being unrepentant and receiving YHVH’s judgment. But truly, their affliction is His faithfulness, returning, restoring, and bringing healing. That’s really beautiful to me. YHVH’s intention— even in all their unfaithfulness and wickedness— is never to discard His people, but to bring them back to Him fully whole.
And then the Messianic pattern of resurrection on the third day also stands out to me. In returning to YHVH, we have new life so that we can be in His presence— to live before Him! It reminds me of Galatians 2:20:
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
I hope these last few days before Yom Kippur (commonly referred to as the Days of Awe) are meaningful to you and are days in which you are drawn ever closer to our God and Savior.
Much shalom and love!
❤️ Raquel
