🍔 Voodoo Burgers in Las Cruces 👻

We finally checked out Voodoo Burgers near NMSU, and these might honestly be some of the best burgers I’ve tried in Las Cruces.

The burgers were awesome, the fries were great, and whatever spicy sauce they give you for the burger and fries… 🔥 probably my favorite part. Definitely get the sauce.

The whole place has a cool spooky/horror theme, which made for an interesting experience with our daughter. Frankenstein was playing on the TV, and she was slightly frightened by him, so we had to explain that he wasn’t a monster—he was just an ugly man, and we should have compassion for him. 😂

Great food, fun atmosphere, and definitely a spot worth checking out if you’re around NMSU.

El Vagon Tacos Las Cruces, NM | Birria, Carne Asada & Al Pastor

If you’re searching for some of the best tacos in Las Cruces, New Mexico, El Vagon is a local spot worth adding to your list.

Las Cruces has no shortage of great Mexican food and taco spots, but El Vagon stands out with flavorful meats, a casual atmosphere, and the kind of food that makes you want to come back and try more of the menu.

I recently stopped by El Vagon in Las Cruces and tried three different options: birria tacos, carne asada tacos, and al pastor tacos. After trying all three, this is definitely a Las Cruces taco spot I’d recommend.

One of the best things about visiting a taco spot is ordering a few different meats and seeing which one becomes your favorite.

At El Vagon, I went with:

Birria tacos
Carne asada tacos
Al pastor tacos

Each gives you something a little different, so ordering a variety is a great option if it’s your first time visiting.

Birria Tacos

If you’re specifically searching for birria tacos in Las Cruces, El Vagon should be on your radar.

The birria was one of the things I knew I wanted to try when I visited. It’s rich, flavorful, and exactly the type of taco you want when you’re craving something a little more indulgent than a traditional street taco.

Carne Asada Tacos

You can’t really judge a Las Cruces taco spot without trying the carne asada.

El Vagon's carne asada tacos were another solid choice and one I’d recommend to anyone visiting for the first time. If you prefer a more traditional taco, carne asada is an easy place to start.

Al Pastor Tacos

I also tried the al pastor tacos, giving me a good mix of flavors across the three meats.

If you’re visiting with someone else, ordering several different tacos and sharing them is probably one of the best ways to experience El Vagon.

Is El Vagon Worth Trying?

Absolutely.

I enjoyed my visit and would recommend El Vagon if you're looking for tacos in Las Cruces, NM or simply want to try another locally owned restaurant.

One of my favorite things about living in Las Cruces is how many local restaurants and small businesses there are to discover. Places like El Vagon are part of what makes the local food scene so much fun to explore.

Whether you're a longtime Las Cruces resident, recently moved here, or you're just visiting Southern New Mexico, El Vagon is worth putting on your list.

Looking for the Best Tacos in Las Cruces?

El Vagon is just one of the many places that make the Las Cruces food scene worth exploring.

My Favorite Coffee Shops in Las Cruces, New Mexico!

Hey everyone! Today, I’m sharing two of my favorite coffee spots right here in Las Cruces, New Mexico. (There are more than two.) These aren’t ranked in any particular order—they each have their own unique vibe and flavor that make them worth visiting. Whether you're a local or just passing through, these shops should be on your must-try list!

☕ Grounded
Located in the heart of downtown Las Cruces, Grounded is a standout café housed in a beautiful historic building. This spot is all about ambiance—warm lighting, rustic decor, and an effortlessly chill vibe that makes you want to linger a little longer.

What sets Grounded apart? The Mexican Mocha—a bold, rich drink with a subtle kick of chile that gives it that true New Mexico twist. It's unexpected, spicy, and unforgettable.

But it’s not just about coffee here. Grounded also serves up some of the best pizza in town, along with wine, craft beer, and other treats. Bonus: most of their drinks are vegan-friendly, but you'd never know from the taste.

Don’t miss their live music nights—they book fantastic local and regional acts that perfectly match the cozy vibe. Coffee, pizza, wine, music... what more could you want?

☕ Picacho Coffee Roasters
Tucked away in the charming neighborhood of Mesilla Park, Picacho Coffee Roasters is a staple in the local coffee scene. Not only is it a great place to relax with a cup, but they also roast their own beans—and those beans are served in cafes all over Las Cruces, Silver City, and beyond.

This place is a dream for coffee purists. You can taste the craft in every cup, and the friendly staff is always happy to walk you through their roasts if you're not sure what to try.

One of my favorite things about Picacho Coffee Roasters? They sell vinyl records too! So whether you’re crate-digging or sipping an espresso, the vibe here is always on point.

Thanks for reading. Las Cruces might not be the first place that comes to mind when you think of coffee culture—but these local gems are proving that great coffee, creativity, and community go hand in hand.

So next time you're in town, skip the chains and check out Grounded and Picacho Coffee Roasters. You’ll find more than just a caffeine fix—you’ll find a taste of Las Cruces itself.

Thanks for watching, and let me know in the comments: what's your favorite coffee shop in town?
