How To RV

For a YouTube Community poll, I’d make the subject/question feel like viewers are helping decide what happens next—not just asking whether they like livestreams.

My favorite for **How To RV** would be:

**Should How To RV Go LIVE? 🎥🚐**

I've been thinking about doing a **How To RV LIVE stream**, where we can talk RVs, answer your questions, troubleshoot problems, talk upgrades, and just hang out with the RV community.

**Would you tune in?**

🔴 **YES! I'd definitely watch!**
👍 **Maybe — depends on the topic/time**
🤔 **I'd watch the replay**
👎 **Not really interested in live streams**

If we do it, drop a comment and tell me **what you'd like the FIRST live stream to be about!**

YouTube Community Post: Let’s Build an RV-Life Conversation in the Comments!

Hey everyone, fellow road travelers! 🚐✨ If you’re rolling through this channel, you’re part of the most adventurous RV crew on YouTube. I’ve cooked up some quick, fun prompts to spark chatter in the comments. Can’t wait to read your stories, tips, and laughs.

What’s your current RV life setup?
Share your rig type (class A, B+, trailer, van conversion, etc.).
Mention one favorite feature and one challenge you’re working on lately.

Tiny RV-life brag or fail:
Brag: a recent win (GALE-proof coffee routine, solar setup, boondocking efficiency, etc.).
Fail: something you learned from and fixed (or are fixing).

Campfire question—best hidden gems:
What’s the most amazing, lesser-known campsite you’ve found on the road?
Where is it, and what made it unforgettable?

Two truths and a lie about your RV life (today’s vibe):
Truth 1:
Truth 2:
Lie:

Dream upgrade moment:
If you could add one feature to any part of your RV (e.g., expanding bed, outdoor shower, solar expansion, a fancy galley), what would it be and why?

Caption contest (RV edition):
Comment with your best one-liner caption for this “camping sunset” shot. I’ll feature favorites in the next video!

Quick poll (0-5 seconds):
Which topic should I cover more next month?
A) Dry-camping and boondocking tips
B) Full-time RV budgeting and safe upgrades
C) DIY RV upgrades and maintenance
D) Scenic routes and hidden gems

I’m geeking out over your replies. Your tips, stories, and memes keep this community rolling farther down the road. Drop your thoughts, RV jokes, gear pics, or whatever you’ve got—let’s flood the comments with good vibes and neighborly advice! 🚐💬

P.S. If you’ve got a friend who loves RV life, tag them below and bring more road-warrior besties into the convo. Let’s set a record for RV chat today! 👇🏕️💥

We are a traveling family and love to explore new places and even did a home swap in France for 6 months.
Historically we have been tent camping in CA and now in Oregon where we live. Our vision of being in an RV was when the kids were out of the house and would entertain it when we retired.
Enter COVID. Just prior to school starting we get notice that face to face school was not happening. In addition, we had a house remodel that needed us out of the house for 3-4 months. In addition to that, all our elderly parents are in Florida and we needed to visit a sick parent but didn’t dare consider flying and potentially bring Covid.
I got the wild idea to just purchase an RV and take it to the road! Within 1 week we bought a class A so that our 3 teenagers could sit at the table and do distance learning while we drove across country!
We started in Bend, OR and the destination was Florida and then head back home north via Kentucky where our extended family was all located. First time ever driving and using an RV. We didn’t even have time for a dry run.
We had some amazing memories that the kids will never forget. New Orleans in an RV park right downtown! On the beaches of Panhandle, eating and stopping in Nashville and had our kids pick all the music venues.
When visiting our family in Kentucky for several weeks my graduating son saw a University that caught his eye. We booked a tour the next day and he fell in love with University of Louisville. This is where I write you from as this week we drop him off to college!
Never did I think we would be in an RV before our 60’s and never did I think it would allow us to be by my dying dads side during Covid and give my son the opportunity to find a college he loved. We visited 13 states in exactly 3 months.
Next up is a travel trailer recent purchase that will have us sticking to Pacific Northwest travel…. Just until the kids are out and THEN? Likely another Class A with a wager and dryer :)

Both my wife and I had parents that started with pop-ups, with my parents eventually upgrading to a travel trailer but keeping it seasonal.

Fast forward, we have been tent camping for the better part of 15 years, mainly in Shenandoah National Park and decided it was time to get a trailer. We went full tilt and bought a 36ft Wildwood trailer with two boys and two dogs in March. We have easily put over 3k miles on the camper already in the short time, between VA, NC, SC and GA!!

We are a travel nurse, respiratory therapist duo. We just bought our TT because we move every 14 weeks to a new place and finding housing is nightmare. We've been at the campground for a week and are really enjoying being able to stay in our own place.
