I'm an explorer, researcher, hiker, ultrarunner, dual-sport rider, adventurer, traveler, pilot, and overall nomad. These are my journeys On2Feet and On2Wheels.
It has been quite the adventure transiting up to Seattle. Zion, Wheeler Peak, Bonneville Salt Flats, ancient bristlecones, Borah Peak, earthquake scarps, Bitterroot Mountains, Missoula exploits, Channeled Scablands, and finally Seattle. Oh and our roof rack flew apart…that was …interesting.
First ride on the 800E since returning from my RATS48 ride in June. She's all patched up (as am I) and riding just as smoothly as I remember. So many great memories are already flooding back from my big loop around the US.
Foot is progressing really well. I've been cleared to ride a bicycle by the doc and the physical therapist! Woo hoo! Good thing too as I've been going stir-crazy without my running.
I will doing a live Q/A about my RATS48 ride at 4:00 PM PT (7 ET) this Friday (7/17). LINK: youtube.com/live/QAck7YVe-A0. I expect I'll go for about an hour. Please join and come with any questions or curiosities you have. I will do my best to answer. If you want to send me questions ahead of time, you can either comment to this post, or email them to on2feetaz@gmail (dot) com
So remember when I said "good news...ankle is not broken!" Yeah...about that. Turns out that I twisted my foot so bad during the South Dakota spill, that my ligament pulled a small piece of bone away from my ankle (avulsion fracture). The good news is that no surgery will be needed and all ligaments and tendons look ok. Should all heal on its own.

6 weeks post break and the ankle is doing well. Out of the boot and most of the swelling has subsided. Will test out a short run next week to assess.
