This Friday we’re getting into a little BOTTLE MADNESS!

I’ve gathered perfume bottles, bottle die cuts, inks, paints, textures and who knows what else will end up on my desk.

We’re going to play, experiment and turn them into perfume bottles, apothecary bottles and mysterious little potions. Some might be beautiful. Some might be weird. Some might end up in the Grimoire. And some might be complete disasters. 😂

No pressure. No serious plan. Just a Friday night of creating, chatting and seeing what happens.

Create Junk Journals With Marylou

I’ve had quite a few people ask what paper I use to print my paper dolls and journal kits, so I thought I’d share what works for me.

For my paper dolls and clothing, I print on Koala Double-Sided Matte Photo Paper (32 lb / 120 gsm). It’s sturdy enough for dolls, easy to cut, has vibrant colours, and because it’s matte, there’s no glare when I’m filming.

For journal pages, pockets, tags, and larger embellishments, I use Staples Matte Photo Supreme (61 lb / 230 gsm). The heavier weight makes it perfect for mixed media and interactive journal elements.

One of the biggest reasons I use matte photo paper is that it works beautifully with an inkjet printer. The colours are richer, the blacks are deeper, and once the ink has dried, I can add wet mixed media—such as matte medium, water-based products, inks, or light watercolor washes—without the original printed image bleeding. That has been a game changer for my junk journals.

My current favourites are:

🖨️ 61 lb (230 gsm) – Journal pages, pockets, tags, and embellishments

I may be looking for one more creative person to work with my Paper Dolls by Marylou collection. ✂️

I’m not looking for someone to simply add a paper doll to a project. I’m looking for someone who understands that these dolls are little characters with stories, wardrobes, places to go, and worlds to live in.

Someone who would enjoy showcasing the dolls, dressing them, creating scenes for them, building storage, making journal pages, and finding their own imaginative way to bring them to life.

You do not need to create the way I do. In fact, I would love to see a different creative interpretation. But the Paper Dolls need to be the focus of the projects.

This could be shared on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, or another visual platform.
