I’m working on something on the plantations in Virginia, Maryland and DC. If you have any information or questions about these places, or have ancestors who were held captive there, please feel free to drop them here. I’m trying to see something for y’all. -Tasha Xi

Uploaded a new short about the Nottoway Plantation fire 🔥 😉
We know that the spirits of the Nottoway people were involved with that fire. They keep saying it’s enslaved Africans. I had to say something.

DC was a political capital for the eastern woodland tribes, specifically the Powhatan and other Algonquin speaking tribes, before colonization. They basically copied and pasted our culture. My great grandma told me stories about this when I was little. Capitol Hill is where we used to have our “caucuses”. “Caucus” is a Powhatan word for political meeting place or political body.

The Comanche, Navajo, Ute, Apache, Pawnee, Tlingit, and Haida participated in slave trading against each other and the tribes who were there before them. They were sold south to the French, Spanish and British (American). So these slaves were on the same plantations as “blacks” and & called the same thing. Yet we are called crazy for claiming our ancestors.
