Nepal has contributed very little to climate change, but it's being forced to live with its brutal consequences.

Hundreds of people have died and hundreds more are still missing after this week's floods.

Scientists believe they were triggered by a massive rock-and-ice avalanche, but the exact cause is still being investigated.

What they do know is that climate change is making catastrophic collapses like this more likely.

How much worse climate disasters continue to get is a political choice.

High-emitting countries and fossil fuel companies have the greatest responsibility to cut emissions now.
