LakayRo will be at Branch Brook Park Fest Tomorrow ❤️🔥 it's an all day family friendly event if you wanna bring your family by, be sure to stop at our table!
I don’t think I’ve ever shared this part of my dream with you all.
Long before YouTube, before social media, before graduate school… there was dance.
Dance was the first thing I truly fell in love with.
Over the years, I’ve taught in schools, community programs, studios, and after-school programs. I’ve met so many incredible kids, but I’ve also seen the gaps. Families who couldn’t afford classes. Talented kids with nowhere to train. Adults who thought they had “missed their chance” because no one ever gave them the opportunity.
I kept asking myself…
“What if I built the kind of place I wish existed when I was growing up?”
That question became Lakayro.
This September, we’re launching the inaugural season of the Lakayro Youth Dance Company, and for the first time, I’m inviting others to be part of building it from the ground up.
I’m excited…
But if I’m being honest, I’m also nervous.
Starting a nonprofit, finding a home for the program, raising funds, planning classes—it has stretched me in ways I never imagined. There have been moments where I’ve questioned whether I was ready.
But I keep coming back to one thought:
If not now… when?
If even one child finds confidence, purpose, or a sense of belonging because of Lakayro, then every late night, every application, every setback, and every ounce of faith will have been worth it.
If you’ve followed my journey over the years, thank you.
Whether you choose to donate, share the fundraiser, or simply leave a word of encouragement, it truly means more than you know.
Here’s to building something that lasts far beyond me. ❤️
We’re officially raising funds to secure a permanent home for the Lakayro Youth Dance Company this Fall. Every donation and every class registration helps make that vision a reality.
If you’ve been wanting to dance with me, join our Konpa Intensive!
💃🏾 July 13–16 🕖 7 PM 📍 Rose Productions Studio, Belleville, NJ
✨ A portion of every registration goes directly toward our future dance space.
Six years ago, I walked away from the traditional path to build a life centered around purpose.
Many of you know me from YouTube. Others know me as an educator, choreographer, or dance instructor. But long before any of that, I was just a little Haitian girl who fell in love with dance. 🇭🇹
Dance gave me confidence. It gave me community. It gave me a place where I belonged.
Today, Lakayro exists so another generation can experience that same feeling.
This Konpa Intensive isn’t just another class—it’s helping us build the future. Every registration and every donation brings us one step closer to securing a permanent space for the Lakayro Youth Dance Company beginning September 2026.
I’m not just teaching dance. I’m building something I wish more of us had growing up.
If you believe culture deserves to be preserved and our children deserve access to the arts, I’d love for you to join us.
I know I usually post more consistently, but I spent the last week deep-diving into something that took way more time than I originally expected.
Part 2 of my Dr. Umar series is finally finished—and it’s officially the longest video I’ve ever uploaded to this channel.
I went through interviews, public statements, timelines, receipts, and years of controversy to put together the most thorough breakdown I could. Whether you’re a supporter, a critic, or just curious, this video covers information that a lot of people haven’t seen discussed in one place.
Thank you to everyone who’s been patient while I worked on this. I genuinely think this is some of my best research yet.

Culture isn’t something we celebrate once a year.
It’s something we live.
It’s something we pass on.
It’s something we protect.
Lakayro was founded because I believe Haitian culture deserves to be experienced—not just remembered.
Our Summer Konpa Intensive helps preserve that mission while raising funds to give our youth a permanent place to dance.
Every registration and every donation supports securing our youth dance home beginning September 2026.
Come dance with us.
Help us preserve something beautiful.

People often ask me why I started Lakayro.
The answer is simple.
I wanted Haitian children to see themselves.
I wanted adults to reconnect with their culture.
I wanted dance to become more than entertainment—I wanted it to become education, empowerment, healing, and community.
That’s why Lakayro exists.
Every class we teach helps preserve Haitian and Afro-Diasporic culture while creating opportunities for the next generation.
Every registration and every donation helps us secure and sustain our youth dance space beginning September 2026.
Whether you dance, donate, or simply share this post…
You’re helping build something that will outlive all of us.
