Same jet. Two countries. Two completely different philosophies.

The US Marines fitted their Harrier II with an APG-65 radar — pulled straight from the F/A-18 Hornet. Beyond-visual-range missiles, all-weather capability, the full package.

Britain never bothered. The RAF flew theirs into Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan with zero nose radar. The Ministry of Defence was even offered the Blue Vixen radar from the retired Sea Harrier — and turned it down, calling it too expensive at £600 million.

Instead? FLIR, night vision, laser-guided bombs, and exceptionally skilled pilots.

And it worked.

Same airframe. Two answers to the same question. Which side got it right?
