Hi, I'm Chris! I analyse real DJ libraries to expose the prep mistakes that make DJs freeze on the decks, and teach decision-first systems that make the next track obvious under pressure.

Your DJ library has got out of hand. What's the thing you'd most want help with?

This DJ's 12,000 track library had become a liability.

It's always fun when DJs let me poke around (and roast) their libraries.

If you enjoy a deep dive check out the latest roast where I pull apart Irwin's crazy tagging system and turn it into proper systems that let him use the full flexibility of his library again.

3 years ago I released my Banger Detect Apple shortcut and hundreds of you have used it to make crate digging easier.

Tomorrow I'm releasing a new version that solves one of it's biggest problems.

I'll be giving it away free tomorrow in the newsletter so make sure you're locked in!

How many tags is too many?

After reviewing a lot of DJ libraries, I’ve realised most people are asking the wrong question.

It’s not “How many tags should I have?”

It’s “How many tags should I be comparing when I need my next track?”

I’ve seen libraries with well over 100 tags that are super fast to navigate and some with 15 that are a nightmare under pressure.

My next newsletter breaks down where more tags actually make your library better, where they start slowing you down and the simple two-layer approach I recommend for keeping tracks findable without creating decision paralysis.

If that sounds useful make sure you’re subscribed before it goes out in a few hours.

I think we've been managing DJ libraries wrong.

Over the last few months I've spoken directly to DJs who are struggling and analysed data from thousands of tracks in librarydojo.

I expected to find organisation or tagging problems, but instead I kept seeing the same pattern.

It’s changed how I’m thinking about DJ library management completely.

I'm going to share the biggest takeaway in the next newsletter in a few hours, along with a new framework I’m experimenting with.

If you’ve ever felt like your library is getting harder to trust as it grows, I think you’ll find it interesting.
