I’ve been working on a video that’s a little different from anything I’ve done before…

It started with a story about a moose my dad harvested almost 40 years ago.

What I thought would be a pretty simple video turned into me digging through old records, tracking down information and uncovering parts of the story I never knew.

And now… I finally have his official Boone & Crockett measurements. 👀

So obviously I had to do what any COTW player would do…

I took those real-world measurements and tried to score his moose as if he existed in theHunter: Call of the Wild.

And you’re NOT going to believe what he scores. 😂

I’m putting a lot of effort into bringing this story into COTW while still doing justice to the real hunt behind it.

There was a lot I had to uncover just to get to this point.

This one means a little more to me.

One of my favourite parts of the conversation was digging into the bigger picture behind COTW’s update strategy. Sometimes a decision might seem strange when an update first drops — but when you zoom out and look at what came before it and what could be coming next, it starts to make a lot more sense.

Sometimes you just have to let EW cook. 👨‍🍳🔥

🚨 REALISTIC HUNTS RETURNS TOMORROW! 🦬

It’s DONE. It’s uploading. LET’S GO!

Tomorrow we’re heading to Hirschfelden for a three-day realistic European Bison hunt… and this one turned into WAY more of an adventure than I expected.

Multiple herds. A close encounter that went VERY wrong. 👀 A Legendary Red Deer that nearly distracted me from the entire hunt…

And eventually, I found a bull that stopped me in my tracks.

Without spoiling anything… there is POTENTIAL SUPER RARE on the table. 😳🦬

This might be one of my favourite Realistic Hunts episodes yet. I really leaned into the storytelling, exploration and the idea of letting the hunt take me wherever it wanted to go.

Tomorrow, we find out where it took me.

🚨 BIG NEWS, FELLOW HUNTERS! 🚨

While opening up my Hirschfelden map for a completely different project, I stumbled across one of the COOLEST wild-caught animals I’ve ever found in COTW.

No grind. No setup. I just happened to find it sitting on my map…

And it was WAY too good not to turn into a Realistic Hunt.

I’m about 75% finished with the video right now and putting in some late nights to get this one across the finish line!

I’m seriously excited for you guys to see it.

🐏 I FIGURED OUT THE RAM TEASER!

Remember earlier this week when Expansive Worlds randomly posted that close-up of the ram with basically nothing but:

“hhm 🤔”

Well… I think I finally figured out what they were doing. 😂

While reading the description for the new HWEEN .45-90 Buffalo, one line jumped out at me:

“features highly detailed animations and an adaptive dual-mode Buckhorn.”

And my immediate reaction was…

What the heck is a Buckhorn?!

So naturally, I looked it up.

A buckhorn sight is an old-school iron sight design named for those large, upward-curving “horns” on the rear sight. And the new rifle apparently has an adaptive dual-mode Buckhorn, giving you two different ways to aim depending on the situation.

And suddenly that ram teaser makes WAY more sense.

🐏 RAM = HORNS
🦬 NEW BUFFALO RIFLE = BUCKHORN SIGHT

So basically…

THE RAM WAS A RIDDLE FOR THE NEW RIFLE. 😂

And there was absolutely ZERO chance I was figuring that out beforehand.

Well played, Expansive Worlds.

You got me. You REALLY got me this time. 😂👏

I’ve gotta give my buddy ‪@dunnellsinthewild‬ DunnellsInTheWild some love for his newest video!

I watched this one today and it’s honestly REALLY good. He tells the story of finding a melanistic buck and another buck with some seriously good genetics in Way of the Hunter 2… but instead of just taking them immediately, he lets them grow and turns the whole hunt into a story.

And eventually… it’s time to go back and take them down. 👀🦌

The editing, pacing and storytelling in this video really impressed me. Just an overall GREAT hunting video, and I think you guys will enjoy it.

Definitely go show Dunnells some love and tell him JBiz sent you! 👊

And it got me thinking…

Should I start making some Way of the Hunter 2 content when it drops on console? 👀

I’m obviously a COTW guy, but I’d be lying if I said videos like this don’t have me interested in seeing what I could do with it!

Woke up today and got to spend part of my birthday doing exactly what I wanted… playing some Call of the Wild on my day off! 😂🎂🦌

I decided there was going to be NO grind, NO plan, and NO agenda. I was just going to let the hunt take me wherever it wanted to go.

So I loaded into Vurhonga Savanna — a map I honestly haven’t really hunted since the reset — and just started exploring.

And let me tell you…

My luck was NOT normal. 😂

Sometimes I think we get so caught up grinding, chasing Great Ones and hunting specific trophies that we forget how much fun it can be to just load into a map and see what happens.

Well… today COTW apparently decided to give me a birthday present. 👀🎁

I’ll show you guys what happened soon!

Maybe birthday hunts need to become a yearly tradition… 😂

‪@WildDiamonds‬ literally went to the ZOO to compare real animals to their models in theHunter: Call of the Wild… and let’s just say, some of our in-game animals have some explaining to do. 😂

Such a creative way to show where the models look disappointing — and where they could seriously use an update.
