YouTube is a little weird about how it displays merchandise, and I didn’t particularly want the shop taking over the visual layout of the channel. After all, we’re here for the music, memories, and adventures first and foremost! So I’ve decided to keep things simple and let you explore the shop whenever you feel like it.

The countdown is officially ON!

After months of dreaming, creating, and more late nights at City Hall than I’d care to admit…

CHILL CITY FM SEASON 3 PREMIERES THIS SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24TH AT 7 PM CST!

That’s right… SATURDAY! I know our premieres traditionally happen on Friday nights, but due to some important mayoral business, we’re making a little exception this week! We’ll be back to our usual Friday night premieres after that! But I wanted to go ahead and put a helpful reminder out there for everyone.

You may also notice fewer livestreams this week as I make the final preparations for Season 3. There’s a lot happening behind the scenes… new projects to finish and some absolutely massive video files making their way into the Chill City archives! Let’s just say the processors at City Hall are working overtime, and I’m keeping a few surprises under wraps!

I can’t tell you how excited I am for this season! I’ve been exploring some exciting new territory, both visually and musically, and I have SO many projects I can’t wait to share with you. Some things will feel wonderfully familiar… others might take us places we’ve never been before!

I’ve always loved collecting comics, but for me, it’s never really been about what they might be worth someday. I collect them for their intrinsic value from the artwork, the stories, the nostalgia… and I actually like to sit down and read the comics I bring home.

Sometimes I’ll go into a shop looking for a few specific titles, but honestly, one of my favorite things to do is block off a couple of hours and really dig through the miscellaneous bins. There’s something so satisfying about taking your time, flipping through issue after issue, and seeing whether any hidden gems are buried in there.

I decided to get in a little much-needed “me time” this week and did exactly that. It’s not a huge haul, but here are a few of what I would personally consider to be absolute bangers that I picked up this week… 📚🔥

We interrupt your regularly scheduled program to bring you a very special announcement from Chill City Hall. After a little time away, a whole lot of creativity, and more than a few late nights behind the scenes, your loyal mayor is back with some seriously rad news to share!

So tune those radios to 88.7 FM. There’s a lot happening in our little city, and the future is looking brighter than a summer sunset in 1989.

CHILL CITY FM RETURNS FOR SEASON 3!

Saturday, October 24th | 7 PM CST

That’s right, citizens. The wait is almost over!

Chill City FM is officially returning for its third season, and I couldn’t be more stoked to be back!

During my little hiatus… while I was taking a “break”… I’ve been hard at work dreaming up new destinations, and building some of the most nostalgic and fantastical scenes Chill City has ever seen. I’ve poured a tremendous amount of time, imagination, and heart into bringing these places to life, and keeping them under wraps has been one of the hardest parts!

From somehow familiar places that feel like coming home to entirely new fantastical corners of our nostalgic little universe, there’s so much I can’t wait to share with you. Season 3 is shaping up to be our biggest adventure yet, and I can’t think of a better way to kick things off than spending another Friday night together, hanging out, sharing stories, and just vibing.

Mark those calendars, citizens. October 24th at 7 PM CST. The lights are coming back on in Chill City!


THE OFFICIAL CHILL CITY MERCH SHOP IS OPENING!

In other exciting news, I’m thrilled to announce that the official Chill City merch shop will launch alongside Season 3 on October 24th!

I’ve been having an absolute blast working on some seriously rad designs inspired by our little corner of nostalgia, and I can’t wait for you to finally see them!

I have do admit, it’s been a challenge finding the time to pull all of this off. Between running Chill City FM, getting the livestreams going, and adding in a merch option, all while working my full time job as a teacher, I’ve come to really there are only so many hours in the day. But somehow I’ve been able to make it happen! That said, as much as I’d love to personally pack every order and send each one off with a handwritten note from City Hall, taking on printing, packaging, shipping, and customer service simply isn’t something I can realistically manage while continuing to give the channel the attention it deserves. That’s why I’ve decided to partner with an established third party merchandise provider to handle the production, orders, shipping, and customer support. This allows me to focus on what I love most: creating the designs, and of course always cooking up new vibes for all of you.

And please know this, citizens: There is absolutely no pressure or expectation to purchase anything. Ever. Your friendship, your encouragement, and the simple fact that you choose to spend a little of your precious time here in Chill City mean more to me than any merchandise sale ever could. The shop is simply another fun way to celebrate this place we’ve built together, and maybe take a little piece of Chill City home with you.

Besides, every great city deserves a souvenir shop, right?


THE ADVENTURES IN CHILL CITY WILL CONTINUE!

For those of you who’ve been following the mysterious misadventures of Rad and the gang, I’ve got some good news! The Adventures in Chill City series is far from over!

There are still plenty of mysteries waiting to be solved, strange places waiting to be discovered, and untold stories hiding just beyond the city limits. I’ve been thinking a lot about where our little gang might wander next, and I’m excited about the possibilities. I’m also exploring the idea of welcoming a longtime Chill City citizen aboard as a guest writer to help bring some of these adventures to life! One of the most wonderful surprises of this whole experience has been discovering just how many creative, imaginative, and talented people call Chill City home. The possibility of collaborating with someone from our own community feels like a pretty special way to keep these stories growing.

Nothing is set in stone just yet, but rest assured, citizens. We haven’t seen the last of Rad and the gang. Something mysterious is always brewing in Chill City, and you never know what might be waiting around the next corner.


A PERSONAL MESSAGE FROM YOUR MAYOR

And now, citizens, I’d like to set aside the official news reports for just a moment and speak to you from the heart.

When I first started Chill City, I had a simple idea to just create some fun little videos for myself to enjoy with YT as a place to catalog them for myself. Never did I imagine so many of you would actually be interested in watching them. Once I realized this, I knew I wanted create a little place to celebrate the nostalgia that brings us all together by building a world where people could escape the noise of everyday life, revisit the memories that made growing up so special, and maybe rediscover a little of that magic we all remember from simpler times. Somewhere along the way, Chill City stopped feeling like just a side project for me and started feeling like a real place. Not because of the music, the scenery, or anything I’ve created, but because of you. Every familiar name in the chat. Every thoughtful comment. Every shared memory. Every person who stops by to say hello, tell a story, or simply enjoy a little peace and quiet.

You’ve all helped turn this imaginary little city into something that feels wonderfully real. And I want you to know how much that means to me. Life gets busy. Responsibilities pile up. The world can feel awfully scary sometimes, and finding a few moments to slow down and simply enjoy being alive isn’t always easy. That’s part of why Chill City matters so much to me. I think we all need a place where the clock moves a little slower. Where the music is always good, the porch lights are always on, and nobody has to explain why an old television commercial, a rainy Saturday afternoon, or the sound of a familiar synthesizer can suddenly make you feel ten years old again. A place where nostalgia isn’t just about looking backward, but about remembering the things that made life feel magical in the first place. And somehow, together, we’ve created a little bit of that.

As your mayor, I can’t promise that every broadcast will be perfect, that every new idea will work out exactly as planned, or that I won’t occasionally bite off more than I can chew. I’m still just one guy with a real job, a head full of ideas, and a pretty serious obsession with the past. But here’s what I can promise…

I’ll always do my very best to make Chill City a place worth coming home to. I’ll keep dreaming up new places for us to visit, new music to fill the airwaves, and new ways to bring those wonderful old memories back to life. I’ll keep listening to your ideas, celebrating your stories, and doing everything I can to make sure this remains the welcoming, friendly, wonderfully rad little community we’ve built together. And most importantly, I’ll never take any of you for granted. The first thing I do every single morning is sit down to respond to each and every comment I receive… because I care. I know there are countless places you could spend your time, and the fact that you choose to spend some of it here is something I consider a genuine privilege.

I’m especially excited about Season 3 because, after all these weeks of quietly working behind the scenes, I finally get to open the doors and show you what I’ve been creating. Every little detail, every carefully placed detail, every new scene has been made with the hope that somewhere out there, someone will see it and smile, remember something wonderful, or simply feel a little more at home. That’s what makes all the late nights worth it. So whether you’ve been here since the very beginning or you’ve only just discovered our little town, please know that you belong here. You don’t need a membership card, a fancy title, or a piece of merchandise to be a citizen of Chill City. You just have to show up. There’s always a place for you here.

Thank you for believing in this little dream of mine, for helping it grow into something bigger than I ever imagined, and for reminding me every single day why I started it in the first place. We’ve already made some pretty incredible memories together. And something tells me the best ones are still ahead of us.

Fall break started for me yesterday so I got to spend the afternoon hanging out with Sonic. Still one of my all time favorite games to throw on when I just want to kick back and enjoy some fun, easygoing gameplay. There’s something about the simplicity of these old games that never gets old for me. Here’s to a lazy day in Chill City just enjoying being a kid again. These game screens were one of my favorite little details to build for “Wiz Kid.” I wanted to expand on the green monochrome computer graphics I created for “Unsolved Mystery,” but this time push things further into that colorful Commodore 64-era pixel art look…more specifically, the kind of 8-bit multicolor bitmap/sprite graphics you’d associate with classic C64 adventure and RPG games.

It also gave me an excuse to sneak a little more Adventures In Chill City storytelling into the video, from the inventory screens, maps, objectives, radio frequencies, Willow, Night Owl, and even a few moments that feel like you’re actually playing your way through the mystery.

I think these turned out way too rad to only flash by for a few seconds in the video, so they deserved their own post. 😎🎮

One of my very favorite things to collect is VHS tapes. When I first started collecting It was always so tempting to want to buy everything you see just to grow your collection, so early on I set a personal rule that only the real bangers would make it into the collection. For me, what constitutes a banger is its intrinsic value and relative to the interests of the collector. Here are a few of the treasures I uncovered over the past few weeks on my neverending hunt for ancient artifacts. Man, im super stoked about these! I feel like the Indiana Jones of VHS tapes 📼

Citizens of Chill City, I’m officially taking the station live. 📡

Starting now, Chill City FM will be gradually integrating more daily livestream broadcasts… giving you another way to tune in, kick back, and keep the Chill City signal coming through while I’m away between seasons.

I’m approaching these less like traditional livestreams and more like daily radio programming slots from your friendly neighborhood radio station… 88.7 Chill City FM.

Some days you might catch a laid back morning commute broadcast. Other nights, we might keep the signal glowing well after hours. You never quite know what’s going to be coming across the airwaves.

I’ve also been running some overnight tests of the Chill City FM broadcast network, seeing how well we can keep the signal going through the wee hours and into the next morning. As you might expect, there have been a few technical hiccups along the way…. so thank you to everyone who’s been hanging in there with me while I work out the kinks and get the station running smoothly. If you ever experience any technical issues during a broadcast, please let me know in the comments. Your reports from out there in the field help me keep the signal strong.

Most importantly, this gives me a way to keep all my Chill City citizens vibing together on some good old fashioned reruns until my return.

So keep that dial locked.

I’m lucky enough to live near a really rad arcade where literally all the video games are free to play… the only games that cost money are the pinball machines. Even those let you earn tickets that you can trade in at an old-school prize counter, which makes the whole place feel even more like stepping back in time.

Every now and then, usually on a Friday or Saturday night, I like to roll down there solo, blow off a little steam, and reminisce about what it felt like to be a kid in the ’80s. There’s something about the glowing cabinets, the sounds of the games, and just wandering around with nowhere else to be that makes the whole experience genuinely therapeutic.

I went down there this past Friday night and had an epic time, as usual. They have so many ridiculously good games, but here are a few pictures I took of some cabinets that I thought looked especially rad from back in the day. 🕹️✨

Happy Friday Chill City!! Your faithful Mayor here, reporting in….

Friday nights feel a little different around here tonight. 💜

For the first time in a while, there’s no new Chill City premiere waiting for us at 7:00. No countdown. No live chat filling up with familiar names. And I’ve gotta admit… I’m missing our normal Friday night hangout more than I expected.

I hope all of you are out there having a rad Friday night anyways… finding your own little way to channel that Chill City energy, shake off the week, and keep things excellent heading into the weekend. I just want you all to know that wherever you are tonight, I’m right there vibing with you in spirit.

For now, I’m gonna hit the highway for a little while. Sometimes you need to get out of town, clear your head, and see where the road takes you before you find your way back home.

Tonight, that road is taking me to my favorite arcade to blow off a little steam, drop a few quarters, and treat myself to a small trip back to the past.

Season 2 may be over, and the Mayor may be taking the scenic route for a bit… but Chill City isn’t going anywhere.

A sincere Thank You to each and every Chill City citizen from the very bottom of my heart. Keep the lights on for me…. I’ll see that skyline again soon.
