This is horrible and my gut is telling me more to come. The lockdown and stimulus have only paused layoffs.. (I hope I’m wrong!) In these times: 1) stay away from debt 2) save up 3) start looking at a plan B should lay offs be coming to a company near you.. What skills do you have? What skills or value can you get? What sectors are hiring (think essential services)? How would you pivot to those sectors?
To give yourself financial buffer - I know interest rates have dropped and it’s tempting to borrow cash but unless you know what you’re doing, it’s way better just to stay away from temptation and look at ways to bring in more income and cut expenses. Old school but “effective” school.
With offices opening back up and many hesitant on using public transit, how are you all getting to work? I know some are carpooling, others working from home still and many are looking at purchasing a used car. What about you?
