The Food Safety & Consumer Protection Department (FSCPD), Punjab, under the chairmanship of Secretary Food Safety & Consumer Protection Dr. Kiran Khurshid, held a consultative meeting with wheat-sector aggregators and relevant business stakeholders.
Representatives of 10 business entities associated with the wheat sector participated in the consultation, including Green Corporate Initiative, Ali Imran Flour & General Mills, Maqsood Flour & General Mills, Zulfiqar Flour & General Mills, Zaria Limited, J&H AgriGudam, Royal Flour & General Mills, M&F Foods, and Botah Brothers Supreme Flour & General Mills.
During the meeting, detailed feedback was obtained from aggregators on Wheat Policy 2026, while their suggestions and recommendations were sought for the formulation of Wheat Policy 2027.
Representatives of flour mills, food companies and other relevant business entities shared their views and practical recommendations to help strengthen Punjab’s future wheat policy framework.
Secretary Dr. Kiran Khurshid reviewed the feedback and emphasized the importance of meaningful stakeholder consultation in developing an effective, practical and responsive Wheat Policy 2027.
The consultation process aims to incorporate industry experience and stakeholder input to further improve wheat-sector policy and its implementation across Punjab.

سیکرٹری فوڈ سیفٹی اینڈ کنزیومر پروٹیکشن ڈاکٹر کرن خورشید کی زیرِ صدارت اہم اجلاس منعقد ہوا، جس میں متعلقہ اتھارٹیز اور اداروں کے قوانین، مجوزہ ترامیم اور انتظامی اصلاحات کا تفصیلی جائزہ لیا گیا۔
اجلاس میں پنجاب ایگریکلچرل مارکیٹنگ ریگولیٹری اتھارٹی (PAMRA)، پنجاب فوڈ اتھارٹی، پنجاب حلال ڈویلپمنٹ اتھارٹی، کنزیومر پروٹیکشن، ڈائریکٹوریٹ جنرل انفورسمنٹ اور سلاٹر ہاؤس ایکٹ سمیت متعلقہ قوانین کو جدید تقاضوں سے ہم آہنگ بنانے کے لیے مختلف تجاویز پر غور کیا گیا۔
ڈاکٹر کرن خورشید نے ضروری قانونی ترامیم کو جلد حتمی شکل دینے، شکایات کے بروقت ازالے کے لیے واضح ٹائم لائنز مقرر کرنے اور ادارہ جاتی کارکردگی مزید مؤثر بنانے کی ہدایت کی۔
مجوزہ اصلاحات کا مقصد قانونی خامیوں کا خاتمہ، زیرِ التوا مقدمات میں کمی، شفافیت و انتظامی بہتری اور فوڈ سیفٹی و زرعی مارکیٹنگ کے نظام کو جدید خطوط پر استوار کرنا ہے۔
