A pulley can reduce the force—but the rope must travel farther.
Supporting strands share the load, while the rope’s fixed length connects the motion of its ends. These two ideas explain tension, acceleration and mechanical advantage across 30 situations.
Understand the rope first; let the equations follow.

⚡ Three phases, 120° apart—a foundation of modern electrical power.

This 10-part series explores three-phase AC circuits through phasor diagrams and worked examples: wye and delta connections, balanced and unbalanced loads, steady state, switching transients, real and reactive power, and power-factor correction.

For balanced sinusoidal conditions, using RMS line values:
🔹 P = √3 VᴸᴸIᴸ cosφ [W]
🔹 Q = √3 VᴸᴸIᴸ sinφ [var]
🔹 |S| = √3 VᴸᴸIᴸ [VA]
🔹 PF = cosφ

Balanced three-phase instantaneous power is constant because the three double-frequency power terms cancel. Capacitor banks reduce reactive power drawn from the supply—and lower line current for the same real load power.

Save this series for your next circuit calculation! ⚡

Why is a door easier to open near its handle? Why can a lighter person balance a heavier person on a seesaw? #physics #jeephysics #torque #physicsnotes

A force’s turning effect depends on where it acts and its direction. For static equilibrium, both the forces and their turning effects must balance.

Explore this connection through 30 cases—from levers and beams to ladders and tipping blocks.

How do semiconductor materials make modern electronics possible? #electronicsphysics #semiconductor #electronicdevices #electronicengineering #physicsnotes

This eight-part series explores the foundations: crystal bonding, energy bands, electrons and holes, doping, drift and diffusion, recombination, p–n junctions, and material selection.

The key is controllable conductivity. Doping changes carrier concentrations, electric fields drive transport, and light can generate electron–hole pairs.

From silicon chips to GaAs optoelectronics and SiC/GaN power devices, performance depends on band structure, mobility, breakdown field, thermal properties, and material quality.

Swipe through the physics behind the devices.

⚡ Voltage divider vs. current divider

Series resistors share the same current, so voltage divides in proportion to resistance:
Vout = Vin × R₂/(R₁ + R₂)

Parallel resistors share the same voltage, so current divides in proportion to conductance:
I₁ = Iₜ × R₂/(R₁ + R₂)
I₂ = Iₜ × R₁/(R₁ + R₂)

🔍 Larger resistance gets more voltage in series; smaller resistance carries more current in parallel.

Swipe through the principles and worked examples—and see why connecting a load changes a voltage divider’s output.

Engineering Physics Divergence measures the net outward flux of a vector field per unit volume. ∇·A is a scalar:

➕ Positive → local source
➖ Negative → local sink
⓪ Zero → balanced net flux, even when the field is nonzero

Swipe through six infographics covering Cartesian, cylindrical, and spherical coordinates—with a worked example for each. The geometry changes the formula, but the physical meaning stays the same.

In spherical coordinates, θ is the polar angle and φ is the azimuth.

A constant speed can still mean acceleration—because direction is changing.

From turning cars and conical pendulums to vertical loops and satellites, one idea connects all 30 cases: circular motion requires a net inward force. Tension, friction, gravity or a normal force can provide it. “Centripetal” describes their role, not an extra force.

Learn the idea, then recognize it everywhere.
