Hi! I'm Mic, owner and head of production at AMS Transfers, a print shop in Houston, Texas, where we help t-shirt sellers and small apparel brands make products people actually want to wear.
I run real production every day, thousands of transfers a week, shipped same-day nationwide, and I've learned most of what I know the expensive way.
I started this channel because when I was learning this business, nobody would tell me anything real. Suppliers hyped their own products, forums argued, and the good information sat behind courses and coaching calls. So I'm putting it out here instead: what to buy, what to charge, what actually holds up after 50 washes , straight from our shop floor, no paywalls and no holding back.
I believe you shouldn't need a warehouse or a five-figure budget to learn how to print professionally. If you've got a heat press and the will to figure it out, that's enough to start.

A haunted house, except you own a shirt business. 🎃
The logo is a screenshot. The shirt color is sold out. The customer needs it tomorrow. And “one little change” comes AFTER everything is pressed.
If you make custom T-shirts, order DTF transfers, or spend your day at a heat press, you already know ghosts are the least of our problems.
From a DTF gang sheet with nowhere to cut to a custom apparel order with a size list that never adds up, the print shop comes with its own horror stories. At least the haunted house lets you leave when you’re done. 😂

Ordering a DTF gang sheet? Catch these mistakes before they end up on your shirts!
Whether you’re making Christmas shirts, custom hoodies, or stocking your T-shirt business, give your artwork one more check before ordering custom DTF transfers:
• Artwork size: Measure the visible design in inches and compare it with the garment you’re decorating.
• Quantity: Count every design in every size—including separate front and back prints.
• Spelling: Double-check names, dates, numbers, and wording.
• Background: Look for unwanted white boxes or backgrounds around your artwork.
• Final proof: Review your gang sheet layout for overlapping designs, tight spacing, missing copies, and cut-off edges.
A few extra checks now can help you avoid wasted transfers, garments, and time at the heat press!

I uploaded our AMS logo and asked her to make it Halloween-themed!
She came back with FOUR options. I didn’t draw the pumpkins, arrange the bats, or build the layouts. Amy did the design work.
Now I’m supposed to pick just one? Rude. 😂
