What is torque in a capping machine — and why does it matter?

Torque is simply the twisting force used to tighten a cap.

But in automatic capping, the right torque is very important:

Too much torque → the cap or bottle neck may be damaged.
Too little torque → the cap may be loose and may cause leakage.
Stable torque → more consistent capping quality from bottle to bottle.

Our servo capping system allows the tightening force to be precisely controlled according to different bottles and caps.

For this servo motor:

Rated speed: 3000 rpm
Rated torque: 1.27 N·m / 127 N·cm
Peak torque at initial cap contact: over 3 N·m
Stable torque range: 0–127 N·cm

That’s why servo torque control is especially useful for caps that require more consistent tightening — from plastic screw caps to aluminum caps, CRC caps, pump heads, and other special closures.
