An item was priced at RMB 2,800.
Then it dropped to RMB 800… and finally RMB 300. 😳
So are the prices at Beijing’s famous Silk Market even real?
I grew up hearing stories about this place, but this was my first time actually shopping there. I tested the bargaining, explored what it sells today, and asked foreign tourists whether they would recommend it.

🍑 A lot of people are surprised by how HUGE the peaches are in Beijing — and how many different kinds there are!
Yes, peaches are actually one of Beijing’s local fruits, and there are more than 300 varieties grown here.
So I went to Beijing’s peach country to pick peaches with a local farmer, see how they sell them across China, and find out how much peach farmers actually make.
