My #1 passion is teaching.
#2 is building AI businesses.
I’ve built and exited 3x tech companies.
Invested in 100+ others.
Spend 98.2% of my time building AI startups at Martell Ventures (AI Venture Studio)
Wrote a WSJ best selling book www.BuyBackYourTime.com
Play life full out (wake surfing, snowboarding, mountain biking) at the highest level…
… and I love people and travelling the world with my family training and speaking on the biggest stages.
Oh, and did all that after ending up in jail and rehab at 17 years old.
It’s been a journey to say the least.

Stepping on the scale I watched the numbers climb.
215... 235... 250...
It stops at 265.
I step off. Get back on.
Is it broken? Maybe I'm standing weird.
Same number… oh sh*t.
Not surprising if you saw my morning routine in my 20s.
Walking up two flights of stairs to the office, stopping halfway to catch my breath.
Sitting down in my desk chair and feeling it creak under the weight.
I kept thinking the problem was:
- Not enough time to build my biz AND work out
- Too much stress eating from managing everything
- I'd get to my health "once things settle down"
But the truth?
The scale wasn't the problem...
The person stepping on it was.
Today:
Stepping on the scale and seeing a lean 215.
Better health at 46 than I had at 25.
But my body wasn’t really the thing that changed…
I did.
Used my "5 Daily Non-Negotiables" to completely rebuild:
- How I see myself
- What I prioritize
- Who I am as a leader
Visible abs was just a side effect of becoming my 10.0 version.
And on the backside of upgrading my identity, my business grew, my relationships grew.
I use this system with all my clients to help them break through. Find their next level.

Your calendar should reflect your priorities.
Not your obligations.
If you don't put your priorities on the calendar first, it will fill up with everyone else's.
So make sure important things go in before anything else.
For me it's:
Workouts, time with my kids, deep work, and date night.
All of it, planned ahead, not squeezed in after.
Most people think planning kills spontaneity.
But it's actually the opposite.
When the important things are already locked in, you can say yes to whatever comes up without guilt, because you already know what you're protecting.
So design your week ahead of time.
Then you'll know exactly what you're sacrificing every time you say yes to something else.

If you've been hovering around the same revenue for months… or even longer…
It's not because you're missing a new tactic.
You're stuck in the Capacity Trap.
When you're needed for everything in your business, more growth = more pain.
So you push harder… and stay flat.
I lived there for years.
Taking the courses. Reading books. Trying every new hack hoping something would work.
But better tactics isn't actually the fix. It isn't even more leads.
After building dozens of companies, I've learned...
It starts by overcoming the limiting beliefs that trap you as the operator.
This is why all my private clients start with my "5 Daily Non-Negotiables."
It's how I got out of the Capacity Trap and now run multiple businesses…
…while travelling the world with my wife and kids.
Thousands have used this inside my coaching program to shift from operator to owner and make growth automatic.
If you want to own your business AND your time…

You're smart but imagine if you were consistent.
I know plenty of brilliant people who are broke because they can't stick to anything long enough to see results.
And I know plenty of average people building empires because they show up every single day.
The gap between knowing and doing is where most potential dies.
It's also where fortunes are made.
Stop relying on your brain to save you.
Start relying on your habits to build you.
The world doesn't pay you for being smart.
It pays you for being reliable.

Your calendar is costing your business more than you think.
Because if everything is important, nothing is.
Every single task you do sits on two axes: whether it makes you money or whether it lights you up.
I call it the DRIP Matrix:
1. Delegation
→ Makes you nothing and drains you dry.
Admin work, billing, invoicing, email, travel arrangements.
Get rid of this first.
2. Replacement
→ Makes you money but drains you dry.
Sales, marketing, managing the team, onboarding.
Document it, then hand it off.
3. Investment
→ Little money but lights you up.
Every task here is an investment.
Protect it before anything else takes it.
4. Production
→ Makes you money and lights you up.
More of your time here builds something bigger than you.
Spend more time here than anywhere else.
This is how you move though the matrix:
A. Calculate your Buyback Rate.
B. Audit every 15 minutes of your day for two weeks.
C. Assign 1-4 dollar signs to each task.
D. Mark it red if it drains you, green if it lights you up.
Once you're done, you'll know exactly what to delete, delegate, or protect.

You can close every deal and still lose.
Because a sale is the starting line, not the finish line.
Every customer moves through 3 stages after they buy:
STAGE 1: Activation
People are most excited about your product the moment they buy it.
That window closes fast.
→ Force a quick win right out of the gate.
Something hard enough to matter, fast enough to build trust.
This is what Precision (precision.co/), one of my portfolio companies, helps with.
They take the onboarding intake over voice using AI and automatically create the client's business scorecard in minutes.
The result shows up before the customer is even done signing up.
STAGE 2: Engagement
Don't rely on your team to manually push people to the next step.
→ Build an active workflow that watches what someone just did and prompts the next logical action automatically.
Like when your phone asks "want to set up Siri?" right after setup.
The product does the nudging.
Your team handles what needs a human.
STAGE 3: Renewals
A renewal call is a sales call. Treat it like one.
If you ask "do you want to extend?" maybe 5% say yes.
→ Instead, go back to their original goals.
Show them the honest gap between what they wanted and where they are.
That gap is the pitch.
Businesses lose customers at a stage they're not paying attention to.
So audit which one is costing you the most.
And fix that one first.
You can keep replacing the customers you lose.
Or you can stop losing them.
