Being an #introvert and showing up on social media sounds like a contradiction.😅

If for you social media = exposure, no wonder it feels uncomfortable.

But what if it's actually just #connection?

This reframe changes everything, especially for my dear fellow #introverts.😉

Introverts often think longer before they speak.

And on social media, where so much is noise, that actually matters more than most people realise.

Thinking before speaking is a superpower on social media, where content often exists just to fill a feed.👀

So the moment you stop asking "HOW WILL PEOPLE SEE ME?" and start asking "HOW CAN THIS BE USEFUL TO SOMEONE?", the whole *social media thing* feels different.

You're not performing anymore, you start serving.

Because social media today gives you an extraordinary reach, and all it really takes is something genuine/ truly valuable to say and the willingness to make it about the person on the OTHER side of the screen.

That's where the real connection happens. And it has nothing to do with being an extrovert. 🤍

I postponed this for 5 years. Just to then complete it in 5 months. 😲

This month, my #YouTube channel “Paulina on the Road” became an official YouTube Partner, 5 months after launching. 🎥

For 5 years, the idea (and the curiosity) were there.

And so was the fear of the unknown, of making mistakes, of putting myself out there. And so I waited and kept daydreaming.

But putting yourself out there isn't exposure, it's connection.

(Yes, I’m looking at you, my dear introverts 😉)

The channel is about #travel as a way to connect people, cultures, faiths and countries.

These stories don't always make the headlines and are maybe a bit too deep for the limited attention span on #SocialMedia.

But those stories turned out to resonate, and people are hungry for exactly that kind of content right now.

Maybe those 5 years weren't completely wasted either. Maybe that's just how long it took for the idea to ripen.

What finally made me jump?

The painful realisation that time is shorter than we think. 9 months ago, the person closest to my heart and soul left this world so abruptly; his loss made postponing feel impossible. 🤎🤍

So this post is really just a reminder, for anyone having an idea they haven't acted on YET:

The thing you've been postponing probably looks much bigger from the outside than it actually is. You’ll realise this when you celebrate your first little win. 🫶

I am not ashamed to admit...

that I felt happiness. Here’s why:

🤍 Happiness for my beloved “little” sister

(yes, forever you’ll remain my “little sister” 😉)) who found love with her husband. May God protect and bless you both with the best of the best during this lifetime and the next.

🤍 Happiness for being surrounded by my family and amazing friends such as Lidia @mirli2311 , who captured this magical 🫧 moment and without whom I would barely have any footage of this special day. #TooOverwhelmed.

30 years of friendship, and we’ve been together through the lowest lows and the highest highs.

🤍 Happiness to witness “magic” in action.

The bubbles 🫧 were actually going in the other direction. But as Lidia and I started taking some pictures, all of a sudden the wind changed and created this special little moment which lasted exactly 10 seconds.

After that, we hoped the bubbles would come back...but they didn’t. Thank you Lidia @mirli2311 for capturing it.

Call me deulu, but these are some of the situations where I feel Saif 🤎 is adding his special touch to the moment.

🤍 Happiness to celebrate LOVE.

Because Love in all its forms is the answer.
Love is healing.
Love is home.
Love is peace.

And yet, the person who showed me what True, Eternal Love is wasn’t with me on this special day.

He, the man I love most, with all my heart and all my soul, who was supposed to be by my side on this day — he was not there in his physical form.

But he definitely was in every other form.

Weirdly, it seems that happiness and sadness can somehow coexist.

How large must our hearts be if they allow us to feel so much happiness and so much grief and so much love in almost the same moments?

When was the last time you felt a truly bittersweet moment?

(And finally, just as I am writing these lines, an invitation for wedding Nr.7 came in!😅)

Never had this many weddings in less than a year.

And honestly, I’m already starting to understand why it’s all happening in the year I was supposed to get married to my Eternal Love, my dearest Saif 🤎.

What if the most resonant stories don't come from a #content calendar, but from having the courage to share what touches your heart?

Earlier this year, a grief-processing trip to #Marrakesh turned into something unexpected.

My Riad was right next to a Mosque ☪️, five minutes from the Jewish Quarter ✡️, all while Easter wishes arrived from family back home. ✝️

The more time I spent in this part of town, the more a story emerged that felt impossible NOT to share:

🔹#Jewish and #Muslim communities in Morocco, living side by side for centuries, peacefully and intertwined.

🔹something which, btw, was the case in many other North African and Middle Eastern countries too: Iraq, Lebanon, Tunisia, Yemen…

Those 3 days turned into some of the most productive days as a #ContentCreator:

long filming days, searching for hidden synagogues to visit, conversations with Rabbis and Jewish people whose family had emigrated in the 1960s, listening to anecdotes from the times of #coexistence...

6 videos later:

over 300K combined views, thousands of comments, and an inbox full of people connecting across faiths...each message being a small bridge between worlds.

Maybe showing what #connects us was exactly what people were hungry for.🥹

Where you grow up might decide how you relate to #difference.

And sometimes you don't even notice.

Growing up in #Luxembourg's oldest town, Echternach, right on the border with Germany🇩🇪, meant that I spent most of my teenage years looking at a different country.😅

High school backdrop: Germany.

Living room view: Germany.

Running route: start in 🇱🇺, cross into 🇩🇪 for 8km, loop back home. 🌍

And it just felt normal.

When borders are just simple wooden bridges, when a different language and culture is five minutes away (not even mentioning here 🇱🇺’s incredible diversity itself)…your relationship with #difference changes fundamentally and permanently.

Slowly, this becomes your default, and you realise that the way you approach people, places and conversations that feel unfamiliar was influenced long before you ever thought about it consciously. 🤍

Lately I have the feeling that everyone has very strong opinions about places they’ve never actually been to.

And about people they’ve never even met.

Conversations that turn into debates about

who is RIGHT,

who is WRONG,

who is the attacker,

who is the victim.

But somewhere in all that noise, something really important gets lost: our #humanity.

One of the most meaningful parts of #travel, for me, has been discovering how different reality can look once you visit a place and spend time with the people who live there.

That’s when headlines turn into conversations.

And when “a country” suddenly becomes real people with names, stories, humour, #kindness.

All of a sudden, things stop feeling so simple.

The world is rarely black-and-white.

Maybe the most powerful thing we can do right now is stay #curious.

To ask questions and #listen before judging.

And accept that there is still so much about the world we don’t fully understand.

Because travel is not just about crossing borders.

It’s also a trip from assumption to understanding and caring. 🤍

What if the best training ground for #CulturalIntelligence isn't a course or years of international experience…but just where you grew up? 🌍

Many think cultural intelligence is about knowledge: the customs, the etiquette, the dos and don'ts…

And yes, that helps.

But after working in the UAE and travelling through Iraq and Yemen, I've come to believe that Cultural Intelligence is less about what you know.

It's about how quickly you can let go of what you assumed.

For example, growing up in small #Luxembourg means adaptation is key in daily life:

🔹 Rotating between 4+ languages on a daily basis

🔹 Classmates from Portugal, Bosnia, Italy, Cape Verde

🔹 A culture that has survived by being permanently open to what surrounds it

Turns out, growing up in Luxembourg is surprisingly good preparation for #Iraq. 😅

Because it installs the ability to question your own perspective and make the “unfamiliar” the norm.

You don't need to grow up in Luxembourg to develop this.

All it takes is one thing:

✨ Enter new situations with #curiosity instead of assumptions. Let the place teach you first.

I don't see humility as a soft skill, but something that we tend to forget when we're in a situation that's new to us.

In cross-cultural communication, it's the most strategic thing you can pack….because it's the only approach that works everywhere. 🌍

In the same month, my #content approach got accused of two completely opposite agendas....make it make sense. 😅

On my travel account, I recently explored 2 worlds:

1. The Islamic heritage of Al-Andalus. ☪️

2. And later, the Jewish community of Marrakesh, Morocco. ✡️

Both made with the same curiosity and the same intention:

to show that places and people are more layered than the story we are being told about them and that we are all so #connected, somehow.

The reactions couldn't have been more different.

And more contradictory (see screenshots below). 😅🫠

It made me think a lot about what we're actually navigating as communicators today.

#SocialMedia has an extraordinary capacity to build bridges.

To connect people across faiths, cultures and countries in ways that weren't possible before.

And that capacity for #connection is something I genuinely believe in, which is exactly why the other side of it is worth talking about too.

But that same space can turn complexity into suspicion surprisingly fast, and when content is outside what feels familiar…it doesn’t always get the benefit of the doubt.

However - it’s those reactions that remind me exactly why this kind of storytelling matters:

the discomfort usually means something worth exploring is happening.🤍

More than 1 Million people watched a video of visiting a mosque in #Luxembourg. 91.000 liked it in under a week. 🕌

But the number that actually mattered came after publishing: invitations.

From people who have called 🇱🇺 home for years, asking to visit their mosque together, saying they felt seen on a platform like this.

Isn't that the metric most content strategies often miss?

We talk endlessly about #reach, watch time, #engagement rate…

All of them are useful numbers, but none of them measure whether content actually touched people’s hearts and whether it initiated real change.

Genuine content doesn't just generate views.

It generates real-world connections: conversations and relationships that go beyond the platform.

But such results don’t come from strategy alone.

They come from empathy, curiosity, and an honest wish to connect - using content as a tool that brings people together instead of dividing them.

So in times of AI & Co, it’s the human qualities and our intuition that matter more than ever. 🤍

Something unexpected happened after sharing content about #Jewish communities in Morocco and #Muslim heritage in Southern Spain:

3 audiences who would barely normally meet started showing up in the same place. 🥹

Jewish audiences found the content through Morocco; Muslim audiences were already there, following Al-Andalus storytelling; and my wider Western audience was somehow watching both. 😄

The content reached over 1M people across 3 quite different worlds, not because of a targeting strategy, but because the content had a clear #intention:

to show that some histories are shared, and that the people behind them have more in common than the current headlines suggest.

And that's what most people miss when they think about content.

It doesn't just communicate, it also decides who becomes part of your audience. 🙂

And if you're working across cultures, faiths or communities, as an institution, a nonprofit, or an individual with something real to say,...that decision is everything!

Content can become a #MeetingPoint between worlds, but only when you're intentional about WHO you need in the room and why.

Before creating anything, it's worth asking:

Who needs to be part of this conversation for something #meaningful to happen, and does your content actually invite them in? 🤍
