We have just concluded the CIRHT-GULU 2025 3rd International SRHR Conference that was themed, "Improving the Quality of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Through Pre-Service TAraining, Research, and Evidence-Based Clinical Care Delivery in Sub-Saharan Africa"
This conference brought together experts and researchers from more than 20 countries across the globe from East Africa, West Africa, Southern Africa, and North America.
We listened to presentations on recent research and panel discussions on SRHR.
The involvement of Mediquoria in this important gathering highlights our commitment to continue bettering health by providing quality information on health, including SRHR.

😷 FLU AND COUGH ‼️First, let's get the terminology right. The flu is a specific respiratory illness caused by the Influenza viruses. What we commonly call flu is better termed as Common cold
🧬Common cold and other infections of the upper respiratory tract are usually caused by viruses like rhinoviruses, adenoviruses, among others.
🤧These infections most of the time come with cough as one of the symptoms. Cough does not, therefore, need a separate treatment from the common cold, except if it persists for too long.
❌ Fever and other malaria-like symptoms can also be present in these illnesses. If the malaria tests are negative on three different occasions, there is no need to take antimalarial medicine.
💊Infections by these viruses are usually self-limiting. They go away on their own without treatment. As such only medications to relieve symptoms are necessary.
❌ As such, these infections should not be treated with antibiotics* except where *a good medical doctor sees the need. Taking antibiotics unnecessarily can have serious detrimental consequences for the person who takes them and the community at large. Always be patient and the symptoms will be gone within about 5 days.
