Dad's Special Journey
I caught my son doing something really sweet for Rowe — helping her with her glasses.
Then I heard him raise his voice at her in a way that sounded very familiar.
That’s when it hit me:
he isn’t only watching how we help his sister. He’s watching how we correct her too.
And at four years old, he doesn’t understand all the context behind why we sometimes communicate with Rowe differently.

Dad's Special Journey
I spent years giving myself to my family without thinking much about what returning to the workforce might eventually look like. Now that I am looking at the job market again, I am confronting a question I did not expect to hit me this hard: where exactly do I fit anymore? This new video continues the conversation from my stay-at-home dad episode, but this time the struggle goes beyond the paycheck. The new video is up now. 👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾

Dad's Special Journey
Before my daughter was born, I searched Down syndrome because I wanted to know what our future might look like. Instead, I found medical risks, frightening possibilities, and images of children I did not know. What I could not find was my daughter. Five years later, I understand why no search result or another family’s story could have introduced me to who Rowe would become. The new video is up now.

Dad's Special Journey
I had always wanted a daughter. But when we heard that our baby might have Down syndrome, I began questioning whether I was capable of becoming the father she needed. Five years later, I understand something about fear, faith, and parenting that I could not see while lying in that bed. The new video is up now. 👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾

Dad's Special Journey
The hardest part of being a stay-at-home dad was not taking care of my children. It was what I started believing about myself when I did not have a traditional paycheck. This week, something in 1 Corinthians helped me recognize how much comparison had distorted the way I saw my role in my own family. The new video is up now. 👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾

Our home nurses shared something with us this week that completely changed how I think about home nursing. I never realized that being approved for care and actually finding a nurse were two completely different things. If you're a caregiver, I hope this video encourages you not to give up. If you're a nurse, thank you for the difference you make in families like ours. 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽

Dad's Special Journey
Can two things be true at the same time?
Can we have compassion for grieving parents...
while also talking honestly about how Down syndrome is discussed publicly?
That's the conversation I've been wrestling with.

Sometimes the child with the loudest needs gets the most attention. But that does not mean the quieter child needs less love. This video is about my son, my daughter, and the balance I’m still learning as a father.

A hot dog, macaroni salad, and a pool. That may sound like a regular July 4th.
But for our family, it showed me something about how far my daughter has come.

Have you ever been in a meeting where everything sounded positive…
but something in you still said, “slow down”?
That’s what happened during my daughter’s placement meeting.
People said things about her progress that almost broke me emotionally.
But once the conversation moved toward the actual decision, my wife and I realized we could not rush just because the room wanted an answer.
