For those who feel the calling, the yearning to do more, be more, the question is no longer “What can I achieve?” but “What am I here to create for humanity?”

You don’t have to choose between ambition and purpose.

There is a third way. The way of the heart.

Explore your heart and aspirations. Create from truth.

The “before and after” is a classic share. Mine is a little different.

On the left is me before heartbreak. On the right is me after several significant losses and after moving from a vibrant, in-person business to working fully from home.

More purposeful, yes. More connected to what truly matters, definitely. But less shiny.

Some transformations do not make you look more polished. They make you more real.

Now that the pendulum has swung back towards valuing human-to-human, in-person connection and the gold within loss has been surfaced, this feels like the right time to share.

For many years I taught about the intelligence of the heart and how love endures despite physical loss.

Then life asked me to experience it for myself, repeatedly.

Heartbreak changes us. It invites us into deeper layers of ourselves. It can awaken a different kind of drive, one that is less about striving and more about sensing, connecting, knowing, and contributing to a more loving world for all.

This journey led me to share a free talk on Insight Timer in the thick of the pain. Reading the reflections and how it has lifted people’s spirits and changed perspectives on heartbreak (personal, professional and collective) continues to warm my heart.

The heart is integral to the future of leadership. Because leadership is not only about what we know, what we achieve, or how much we can carry. It is also about how deeply we can connect, how compassionately we can act, and how consciously we can shape the world around us.

With care and with the willingness to go inward, heartbreak can become the very experience that expands the heart and, with it, our capacity to lead and influence with humanity.

With compassionate guidance and a wider perspective, contained within every heartbreak is the seed of a breakthrough and an invitation to know a more expansive, unconditional love.
