Sometimes the hardest part of healing is accepting that the people you love may not have the emotional capacity to love you in the way you need.
You can explain yourself clearly.
You can give them another chance.
You can keep hoping that one day they will finally understand.
But you cannot force someone to develop emotional skills they have chosen not to practice.
Acceptance does not mean their behavior was acceptable. It means you stop exhausting yourself while waiting for a different version of them to appear.
Protect your peace. Adjust your expectations. Choose relationships where emotional maturity is mutual.
