In just 2 decades, Ørsted went from one of Europe’s most polluting energy companies - to one of the world’s most efficient.
Recognising that the energy industry is a contributor of around 70% of the CO2 emissions, globally - and seeing what climate change was doing to our planet - Ørsted decided they could not be a part of it.
Hornsea 2 is an offshore wind farm, where just one rotation of a single turbine generates enough power to supply one home for 24 hours. Hornsea 3 is currently under construction and, once complete, will become the world’s largest offshore wind farm.
This is why Ørsted are named a Finalist for the 2026 Earthshot Prize to Fix Our Climate.
