I've been thinking about this a lot lately.

We make damn near everything in life harder than it needs to be.

Getting in shape

Eating healthy

Making money

Raising kids

Relationships

Trying to be happy.....

Everybody is looking for the perfect plan, the newest hack, the secret formula, or some crazy morning routine that requires 87 different steps.

Meanwhile, most of the stuff that actually works is pretty boring.

Want to get stronger? Lift weights consistently.

Want to get leaner? Eat enough protein, control your calories, and walk more.

Want to feel better? Get some sleep, move your body, and manage your stress.

Want better finances? Spend less than you make, save, and invest consistently.

Want better relationships? Put your phone down and actually spend time with the people you love.

None of that is sexy.....None of it is groundbreaking.

But doing the simple sh*t consistently for years is where the magic happens.

That's what I'm diving into on this week's Jeremy Scott Fitness Podcast.

A little fitness, nutrition, money, relationships, parenting, and just trying to navigate life without making everything so damn complicated.

It's a conversation I think a lot of busy adults need to hear.

Listen here: We Make Sh*t Too Complicated

podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/we-make-sh-t-too-com…

Hopefully it gives you a little perspective and reminds you that you don't have to do everything perfectly to build a pretty awesome life.

Do less

Do it better

Do it longer.

Appreciate you guys listening and being part of our community.

You're Busy I Get It ....Do These 3 Things

If you're working full-time, raising kids, running a business, or just trying to keep your head above water most weeks, I get it....

Life is busy as hell.

So here is my top 3 habits for busy adults who want to stay strong, lean, and healthy.

1. Move your body every single day.

You don't need to crush a 90-minute workout seven days a week.

Lift weights 3–4 times a week

Walk daily (Ruck if you can)

Take the stairs

Get outside with your kids....when the weather permits

Consistency beats the occasional perfect workout!

2. Make protein a priority.

Before you worry about fancy diets, fasting windows, or the newest nutrition trend, get your protein dialed in.

Build your meals around quality protein, add some fruits and veggies, and keep most of your food choices simple.

You don't have to eat perfectly.

You just have to make more good choices than bad ones.

Grab some of our JSF Nutrition Protein Powder here if you want a quick healthy option - HERE

3. Stop letting one bad day turn into a bad week.

Missed a workout? All good..get the next one.

Ate like an a**hole Saturday night?

No big deal.....get back on track Sunday.

The people who stay in shape for decades aren't perfect.

They're just really good at getting back to their routine.

Move daily Eat enough protein, produce and water ...

Guys, if you're lifting weights and not taking creatine, you're missing out on one of the easiest wins in fitness.

Seriously, it's one of the most researched supplements on the planet, and the benefits are pretty damn simple.

For the dudes (and ladies)

More Strength & Power: Creatine helps you squeeze out those extra reps, move more weight, and perform better during hard training sessions.

More Muscle: When combined with resistance training, creatine can help you build and maintain lean muscle. Especially important as we get older.

Better Training Performance: Whether you're lifting, sprinting, or doing high-intensity workouts, creatine helps support those short bursts of hard effort.

Creatine isn't just for the dudes.....

In fact, women get all the same benefits and then some from taking it daily...

Build & Maintain Muscle: Especially important as women get older and move through perimenopause and menopause, when preserving strength and muscle becomes a bigger priority.

Stay Strong as You Age: Combined with strength training, creatine can help support muscle performance and long-term physical function.

Potential Brain Benefits: Emerging research is looking at creatine for cognitive performance, mental fatigue, and brain health. Promising stuff, although the evidence isn't as established as it is for muscle and strength.

And no, ladies, creatine isn't going to magically make you bulky.

Building significant muscle takes consistent training, nutrition, and time.

How much do you need?

For most healthy adults, 3-5 grams daily is a solid approach.

That's why we offer JSF Nutrition Creatine in TWO easy options:

Creatine Powder: Simple, easy to mix into your daily shake or favorite drink.

Creatine Gummies: For anyone who wants a convenient option without mixing another powder. Just check the serving size to get your daily dose.

Both are designed to make getting your creatine in simple.

Use code JSF10 to save 10% on your order.

Bottom line, guys and ladies, if you're serious about staying strong, building muscle, and taking care of your body as you age, creatine is absolutely worth considering.

You don't need 20 supplements and a chemistry degree to get results.

Just the basics done consistently.

At 43, I'm realizing there's a part of getting older nobody really prepares you for.

You've got young kids who need you for everything, parents who are getting older, a spouse, a career or business, bills to pay, and somewhere in there you're trying to stay strong, healthy, fit, and somewhat sane.

If you grew up in the 80s or 90s, you probably know exactly what I'm talking about.

You work hard. You handle your sh*t. You show up for people. You figure things out.

But what happens when you're always the person everyone depends on?

In this week's Jeremy Scott Fitness Podcast, I'm talking about the stuff that doesn't always make it onto social media.

Fatherhood, marriage, aging parents, running a business, the current economy, mental health, and trying to take care of yourself while taking care of everyone else.

I'm living through a lot of this myself, and I know many of you are too.

No motivational bullsh*t. No pretending I've got it all figured out....because I most certainly do not.

Just a real conversation about life in your 40s and what being strong actually means.

🎧 NEW EPISODE: The Hidden Cost of Being the Strong One Everyone Depends On

LISTEN NOW: Apple Podcasts | Spotify - podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/jeremy-scott-fitness…

One thing I've learned is that you can love your life, be incredibly grateful for it, and still feel the weight of everything you're carrying.

And if you're the person everyone counts on, taking care of yourself isn't selfish......It's part of the responsibility.

Give this one a listen, I think it'll hit home for a lot of you.

Keep showing up, keep getting stronger & don't forget to actually enjoy the life you're working so hard to build.

Creatine vs. Collagen: Which One Do You Actually Need?

I get asked this one all the time....

"Should I take creatine or collagen?"

My answer?

They do completely different jobs and for a lot of you, BOTH make sense.

Here's the quick breakdown without turning this into a 47-minute supplement podcast.

CREATINE = PERFORMANCE + MUSCLE

If your goal is getting stronger, maintaining/building muscle and performing better in the gym, creatine wins.

It helps your muscles rapidly produce energy during hard efforts, and it's one of the most researched sports supplements we have.

Research consistently supports benefits for strength, power and repeated high-intensity work.

I take 5g daily....Nothing fancy

You don't need to cycle it or take it while facing east during a full moon.

Just take it consistently everyday if possible.

COLLAGEN = CONNECTIVE TISSUE SUPPORT

Collagen is different.

Think tendons, ligaments, cartilage, joints, bones and skin.

There's promising evidence for benefits to joint and skin health, although the collagen research isn't nearly as established as the evidence behind creatine.

For those of us training hard in our 30s, 40s, 50s and beyond, that's why I like having it in the routine.

So which is better?

If you made me pick ONE for someone who lifts weights?

Creatine 100%

If you're asking what I like for the bigger picture of muscle + performance + joints/connective tissue as we age?

I like both.

They're not competitors... They're two different tools.

And remember neither replaces eating enough quality protein, lifting weights, sleeping and doing the boring stuff consistently.

Sadly, we still haven't invented a powder that replaces actually training.

We have both JSF Creatine and Collagen available here.

Your Supplement Stack Is Too Complicated

The older I get, the less interested I am in complicated supplement stacks.

Most busy adults in their 30s, 40s and 50s don't need 20 bottles sitting in the cabinet. Train consistently, eat mostly real food, sleep, move your body and use a few basics to fill the gaps.

If I were keeping it simple, this is where I'd start.

PROTEIN (you can eat enough meat disregard this one)

Muscle matters more as we get older and getting enough protein is one of the simplest things you can control.

Eat real food first.... but if you can't eat around 1g per lbs you weigh...Use a quality shake to make hitting your daily protein goal easier.

CREATINE

Probably the easiest supplement recommendation I can make for adults who lift.

It's simple, inexpensive, extremely well researched and supports strength, performance and lean mass when combined with resistance training.

I take it every day.

HYDRATE

If you train hard, sweat a lot or live somewhere hot like Arizona, water isn't always the entire equation.

Hydration + electrolytes are a staple for me around training and throughout hot days.

GREENS

Greens don't replace fruits and vegetables, but they're an easy addition for busy people who know their nutrition isn't perfect every single day.

We have our own JSF Greens, and I've also been an AG1 guy for years. You don't need both pick the option that fits you and your routine.

That's really it (WE HAVE FREE SAMPLES)

Protein Creatine Hydration.....Greens

Supplements don't replace training, quality food or sleep. They supplement the work you're already doing.

How Busy Dads Can Build Muscle, Lose Fat & Still Have a Life

Being a dad changes everything including how you approach fitness
Before kids, it may have been easier to spend an hour or more in the gym, carefully plan every meal, and structure your entire day around training. Once work, family responsibilities, kids, and everything else enter the picture, that approach often becomes unrealistic.

The good news?

You don't need to spend hours in the gym or follow a perfect diet to build muscle, lose fat, and stay healthy as a busy dad.

You need a plan that fits real life.

Busy Dads Don't Need More Motivation, They Need a Better Plan
Most busy dads aren't struggling because they don't care about their health.

They're struggling because they're trying to follow fitness programs designed for a completely different lifestyle.

When your schedule is packed with work, family responsibilities, school activities, and everything else that comes with being a parent, fitness has to become more efficient.

The goal shouldn't be to find the perfect workout.

The goal should be to create habits you can continue doing, even during your busiest seasons.

Keep Your Training Simple
You don't need a complicated workout split or a new fitness trend every month.

For most busy dads, the foundation should be simple:

Strength train consistently

Focus on basic movement patterns

Walk and move daily

Include mobility work

Prioritize recovery when possible

Squat. Push. Pull. Carry. Challenge your cardiovascular system.

These basics have worked for decades because they work.

The biggest mistake many people make is constantly searching for something new when they would benefit more from simply being consistent with what they already know.

Short Workouts Still Count
One of the biggest traps busy adults fall into is believing that a workout only counts if it lasts an hour or more.

That's simply not true.

A focused 20- to 30-minute workout is far more valuable than the perfect 90-minute workout you never have time to complete.

Some days you may have plenty of time to train. Other days, you may only have 20 minutes.

Both count.

The key is to stop viewing fitness as an all-or-nothing activity. Do what you can with the time you have and keep moving forward.

You Can't Out-Train Inconsistency
Missing a workout doesn't mean you need to punish yourself with two hours of exercise the next day.

Having an off weekend with food doesn't mean you need to starve yourself on Monday.

Long-term fitness isn't built through extreme corrections. It's built through small disciplines repeated consistently over time.

That mindset is especially important for busy dads.

Life will get busy. Kids will get sick. Work will become demanding. Vacations and holidays will happen.

Instead of trying to be perfect, learn how to return to your routine as quickly as possible.

Nutrition Should Fit Your Family and Your Life
Getting lean doesn't require eating chicken and broccoli every day or avoiding every birthday party, vacation, or family dinner.

A sustainable approach to nutrition should include:

Protein with your meals

Mostly whole, nutrient-dense foods

Fruits and vegetables

Flexibility for meals and experiences with your family

Fitness should improve your life, not take you away from it.

The best nutrition plan is the one you can realistically follow for years, not just a few weeks.

Why Fitness Matters More Than Just Looking Good
Of course, most of us want to build muscle, lose body fat, and feel confident in how we look.

But as a dad, fitness often becomes about something bigger.

It's about having the energy to play with your kids.

It's about being strong enough to carry them.

It's about staying active as you get older.

And perhaps most importantly, it's about setting an example.

Your kids may never care how much you bench press or how many calories you burn during a workout. But they will notice whether you prioritize your health, stay active, and continue showing up for yourself.

A Simple Fitness Blueprint for Busy Dads
If you're feeling overwhelmed, start here:

Train 2–4 days per week

Focus on strength and basic movement patterns

Walk or stay active every day

Eat protein with your meals

Eat mostly whole foods

Spend a few minutes each day working on mobility

Sleep as much as your current season of life allows

Stop chasing perfection

That's it.

You don't need to overhaul your entire life overnight.

Start with what you can do today and build from there.

The longer I've been doing this, the more I realize how many things I looked at differently when I was younger, especially when it comes to training, health, nutrition and what actually matters if you want to stay strong and capable for the long haul.

When I was younger, I thought more training was almost always better, cardio was something you had to be careful with if you wanted to keep your muscle, getting leaner automatically meant getting healthier, and mobility and recovery were things you worried about when something started hurting.

At 43, after decades of training myself and coaching thousands of people, I see a lot of those things very differently.

On the newest podcast, I break down 10 things I've changed my mind about when it comes to health and fitness, including how much you really need to train, why I value being athletic over simply being strong, why walking and cardio have become such a big part of my routine, and why carrying muscle means a hell of a lot more to me now than just looking good with my shirt off.

But the biggest shift might actually have nothing to do with sets, reps, macros or workouts.

We've created a world where you can work from home, order your groceries and meals to your front door, train alone, shop online and entertain yourself endlessly without ever really needing to interact with another human being.

Technology has made life incredibly convenient, but I'm not convinced removing people from every part of our lives has made us healthier or happier.

I think most of us could use a little less digital and a lot more analog in our lives, whether that means training with other people, joining a group, hiring a coach, going to events, having dinner with friends or simply putting the phone down and having a real conversation with somebody.

Health is bigger than your body fat percentage, your blood work or how much weight you can lift. The people you spend your life with, the communities you belong to and having somewhere you actually want to show up matter too.

I unpack all of that in the newest episode, along with the other nine things I've completely changed my mind about over the years.
