The Media Freedom Act will free our democracy from capture by the billionaire owned media (BOM). You cannot have a free democracy if media is controlled by the 0.001%.

The Media Freedom Act:
1. Owners of UK national media organisations must be legal UK residents.
2. To free media ownership from domination by billionaires & corporations:
i/ Maximum ownership share of a national media outlet for 1 individual or family shall be 20%.
ii/ Companies can only own 1 national media outlet.
3. A levy on social media billionaires shall fund local, independent & cooperatively owned media, in order to distribute the power of media ownership across society.
4/ UK media must be members of a Leveson-compliant press-abuse complaints authority, independent of government and owners.
5/ Requires think-tanks covered by the media to disclose donations in real time.
