The Story of Team IceHole

Chapter One: A Promise

Every great adventure starts with a dream.

Mine didn’t.

Mine started with a promise.

Before Team IceHole ever existed, my stepdad, Bama, always talked about starting a YouTube channel.

We were always out doing something.

Fishing.

Camping.

Working on trucks.

Taking road trips.

Finding another adventure.

He’d always say we should film everything we did because someday we’d look back and be glad we had those memories.

I loved the idea.

But life got in the way.

I didn’t have the money.

I didn’t have the equipment.

I didn’t have the time.

So we kept saying…

“Someday.”

Then someday disappeared.

Bama was diagnosed with cancer.

Before he passed away, I sat with him and made him one promise.

I told him…

“I’m going to start that YouTube channel we always talked about… and one day I’ll make it my full-time job so your story never dies.”

That promise became Team IceHole.

The original dream wasn’t supposed to be mine alone.

It was supposed to be the three of us…

Me.

My brother.

And Bama.

After he passed away…

I bought one GoPro.

That was all I could afford.

I didn’t even own a real computer.

I edited every video on a cheap tablet using CapCut.

It crashed constantly.

Sometimes hours of editing would disappear because the tablet froze.

I’d have to start all over again.

There were nights I wanted to quit.

But every time I thought about giving up…

I remembered that promise.

So I kept going.

One video.

One lesson.

One upload at a time.

People see the cameras today.

They see the truck.

They see the gear.

What they don’t see are the years spent buying everything one piece at a time from Facebook Marketplace because that’s all I could afford.

One GoPro became two.

Two became three.

Eventually I saved enough for a laptop.

Then another camera.

Then another.

Not because I had money…

Because I refused to stop.

I probably watched thousands of YouTube videos trying to learn.

How to film.

How to edit.

How to tell a story.

How the algorithm worked.

How to make every video a little better than the last one.

Every mistake became another lesson.

Every upload became another step forward.

People ask me how Team IceHole has grown.

The answer isn’t talent.

It’s consistency.

I’ve always believed one thing…

You have to start somewhere… or you’ll never get anywhere.

That sentence has carried me through every challenge.

Every late night.

Every failed upload.

Every time I questioned whether it was worth it.

Years later…

Team IceHole has become so much more than a YouTube channel.

It’s becoming a community of people who love the outdoors as much as I do.

Fishing.

Camping.

ATVs.

Boats.

Road trips.

Meeting amazing people.

Creating memories.

Living life instead of watching it pass by.

One of those moments happened when I drove over 830 miles round trip to attend CboysTV’s first Octane Fest.

That trip reminded me why I started.

Not to become famous.

Not to chase viral videos.

To create stories worth remembering.

Today, I’m still working a full-time job.

I’m still editing late at night.

I’m still learning.

I’m still dreaming.

And I’m still chasing the promise I made all those years ago.

One day…

I hope Team IceHole becomes my full-time career.

A business built around adventure.

Storytelling.

Merchandise.

Partnerships.

Travel.

And a community of people who believe that the best memories happen outside.

This Friday me and my girlfriend are hitting the road for an 830-mile round-trip adventure to Brainerd International Raceway for Octane Fest featuring CboysTV! 🏁😎
