Hey everyone! Just a little update to say that I'm starting my final year at university next week, so my output will be a little slower and less consistent this week and the next couple of weeks, as I prepare myself, and work on, getting back into a routine.

A lot's changed over the last few months, and, while I'm generally much happier and in a much healthier position, I'm still working on becoming more consistent and stable with pretty much everything, my brain especially, and being less hard on myself is the most important part of that (because who honestly has their shit together these days???)

Balancing multiple channels, Patreon, everything, alongside university and, of course, a thriving and elegant social life (lol) is actually something I'm looking forward to. It'll be a nice change of pace I think. I'm thankful that uni does at least give me a lot of free time, in fact that's the main reason I started doing YouTube near the end of 2024, and because of that I won't be stopping anything I'm doing right now, just letting you know that things may be a little all over the place for a bit. Bear with me :)

I'm slowly working on the next episodes for Undertale and Dragon Age Origins, as well as hopefully getting another movie reaction out for the second channel by the end of the week (or at least on Patreon). Towards the end of September, we'll put a couple of polls up for some horror games and movies to play and watch throughout October, which should give us something a little different to experience on the channels.

That's all really. When I started doing this, it was my optimistic dream that I would be able to do this full time when I finished uni. Unrealistic at the time, but now, honestly, thanks to you all of you supporting the channel financially, joining the wonderful community on Patreon, or just sitting down and watching a guy play games in his bedroom, that dream is actually looking pretty feasible. So we'll see what happens over the next year or so :)

Hey everyone, this is a long post and probably doesn't apply to most of you, but I have some things I need to mention regarding ways to support the channel and would like your input on them!

(BTW the UNDERTALE PLAYTHROUGH has begun and the first episode is available to watch in early access on Patreon and YT Members!!)

I've had a few people ask me if I can set up YouTube Memberships as an alternative to supporting the channel through Patreon. I've been trialing this out for a little bit on here, and the reaction channel, and now have it fully set up on both of them. However, there's some pretty big limitations to this system that I want to make clear, if you’re thinking of using it.

- Firstly, due to how YouTube enforces the system, memberships are VERY rigid and clunky, and I am unable to offer all of the benefits that I offer on Patreon, including the benefits being available for both this channel, and the reaction channel, all in one place.

- Secondly, you're forced to set specific price options as dictated by YouTube, meaning the prices may differ slightly to Patreon (it's also worth mentioning that YT takes a much higher percentage of your money for themselves, as opposed to Patreon which is much more lenient.)

- Finally, two of the main benefits offered on Patreon is Early Access and Exclusive Videos, and the way I do this is by setting the videos to unlisted and posting the link on Patreon, allowing you to watch the video through YouTube on any device. With the way YouTube does things, to offer this as a benefit for Members as well, I have to upload 2 versions of the same video, one Unlisted for Patreon, and one Members-only for Members. This is perfectly doable and I don't mind doing it, however YouTube doesn't really let you upload 2 copies of the same video for obvious reasons, meaning one of them would have to always stay private or be deleted when the video goes public.

The thing I'm struggling with in relation to this, is that, because one of them would have to stay private, it means when one of the videos is made public (which will likely be Patreon as that is my main priority), the comments on the other video would stay private. Some of you may be fine with this, as it would mean your comments would only be seen by me and other Patrons/Members, however I'm a little uncomfortable with it, kind of, splitting up the community in a way. I want everyone to be able to watch, comment on, and interact with the same video, to feel like we're all part of one community, and my intention with things like Patreon in the first place was to make an even deeper, more personal community out of that.

In order to be as transparent as possible, I want to make it clear that Patreon is and always will be my priority. YT Memberships are just straight up worse value than Patreon, for everyone involved, and for these reasons, I wouldn't recommend choosing Memberships if you would like to support the channel. However, I understand that Patreon isn't the most convenient of options, and some of you might not want to make an account on a separate website, so it is there as an alternative if you'd like to choose it, and I will try and be as consistent as possible in replicating everything that is offered on Patreon.

Right now that is:
- Early Access (ad-free) - if you're a member of that specific tier, you'll be able to see those videos in my channel feed or get notifications for them, and they should be ad-free. Due to the concerns mentioned earlier about having to upload 2 separate videos, it may be that, in the future, I just post the link in a members-only post instead, similar to how I do it on Patreon. The issue with this is that you won't be notified about these posts, however they should appear in your feed (OR if you're in the discord, I can notify you about them directly when they're posted!!) This would also alleviate the problem of having 2 separate videos and allow everyone to comment on the same one.

- Bonus Videos - any Patreon-only videos will also be posted as Members-only videos. Right now, The Stanley Parable trailer reactions is the only one available, but over the next few weeks, I plan to upload the previous Patreon-only videos here for Members as well (there's around 5 or 6 so far)

- Polls - same with any polls where we vote for stuff (it might just be a link to a straw poll as YT only lets you have 4 options)

- Discord Benefits - the Patreon VIP channels in the community Discord will be made available to Members of the corresponding tier. You should get that role automatically if your accounts are linked, but please let me or a mod know if you haven't.

- Your Name in the Credits - if you're a Greene Gang Member, you'll get credited at the end of every video, just like on Patreon.

That's everything I think. I appreciate this is a long post and probably doesn't apply to most of you, I just wanted to make those points clear, and to get your input and feelings on all of this. This affects you more than it affects me, and I wouldn’t want you to feel like your money is being wasted by YouTube’s rigidity or Patreon’s slight inconvenience. Any recommendations regarding this sort of stuff is always appreciated. I'm trying my best to work with the systems in place lol.

TL;DR: YT Memberships is now set up across both channels, as an alternative to Patreon. I have tried my best to replicate the benefits and prices, and will try and be consistent with both, but Patreon remains my priority, and, if you would like to support the channel, it is the recommended option in terms of price, value, and community.

Also, the UNDERTALE PLAYTHROUGH has begun and you can watch it now in Early Access if you're a Patron or a Member (members you may have to click the members-only tab or locate the playlist in my feed in order to see it!!)
