Cruise + Flight Update — Caribbean Travel
Hey @travelysmtravel 👋🏽 (Long post)
Just wanted to share what’s happening right now since we’re currently on our cruise that was supposed to visit Aruba & Curaçao.
Our ship is being rerouted to Barbados (Bridgetown) and St. Lucia (Castries) due to the travel chaos over the weekend
I’m a little disappointed we won’t be stopping in Aruba & Curaçao like planned — but no complaints here. I’m grateful for safety, flexibility, and the blessing to be here. 🙏🏽💙
here’s the good news:
✈️ Airspace restrictions that caused widespread Caribbean flight cancellations yesterday have now been lifted as of early today (Sunday), and airlines are resuming flights to the region. Major carriers are restarting service to places like San Juan, Aruba, Puerto Rico and more, though it may take a few days to fully catch up.
If you’re flying into the Caribbean now:
✔️ Check airline updates online or in your app — flight schedules are changing rapidly.
✔️ Expect some delays while airlines restore normal operations. �
✔️ Travel insurance and arriving a day early can make all the difference.
