India holds an important place in Ismaili history. It is a land where Aga Khan I, Aga Khan II, and Aga Khan III spent significant parts of their lives. When Imam Sultan Muhammad Shah was still a young child, he was entrusted with the responsibility of Imamat. At that time, some people questioned how a child could become an Imam. In a gathering, Imam Sultan Muhammad Shah said:

“Do not consider me young. We are the descendants of the Prophet and the children of Ali. Our grandfather was the one who conquered great fortresses. We are the light of his Noor.”

History later showed that he became a great leader, and the Ismaili Imams have consistently demonstrated leadership through their service to humanity. Their efforts have extended beyond the Ismaili community, contributing to education, healthcare, social development, and the well-being of wider societies.
