Former Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Amaechi, has taken a swipe at President Bola Tinubu’s administration, saying Nigerians are already worn down by hunger and hardship.

Amaechi, who recently dumped the APC for the African Democratic Congress, says even the rich are struggling, with some spending over four million naira monthly on fuel and only God knows how the poor are surviving.

He made the remarks while addressing supporters at the Port Harcourt International Airport, shortly after arriving in Rivers State.

Amaechi also warned that a second term under Tinubu could bring even more hardship for Nigerians. He called on Rivers people and all Nigerians to prepare for the 2027 elections, saying it was time to vote out the current government and end what he called “the era of election result writing.”

He accused politicians in Rivers of consistently manipulating election results and urged ADC members to be ready to challenge them at the ballot box.

President Bola Tinubu has revealed that he nearly stopped watching or reading the news during the early days of his presidency due to the country’s economic challenges.

Speaking during a visit to Katsina State, Tinubu admitted the tough start to his administration was discouraging but expressed confidence that the economy is now on the path to recovery.

“Nigeria is a success, the economy is turning around, it has bent the corner,” he said.

The Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has alleged that her troubles in the Senate began after rejecting sexual advances from Senate President Godswill Akpabio. Speaking in an interview with Arise TV on Friday, she claimed the incident occurred on December 8, 2023, during a visit to Akpabio’s house in Uyo for his birthday celebration.

She said Senator Akpabio held her hand and suggested they spend "quality moments" together, prompting her to pull away.

Akpoti-Uduaghan also recounted a confrontation with Akpabio in his office over the repeated stepping down of her motions, during which he allegedly implied she would benefit if she “takes care of him.”
She linked these incidents to a heated exchange on February 20, when she refused to comply with a reassignment of her Senate seat. She described her experience as “a student being punished by a lecturer for refusing to sleep with him.”

Presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, has described President Bola Tinubu as a workaholic who gives his best to the nation.


Speaking during a television interview, Ngelale said Tinubu wakes up early every day and does not go to bed until around 2 am or 3 am.


Ajuri appealed to Nigerians to show support for the president.


“I’m saying hang in there because I can see an end to this. I’m working with a man who I can personally vouch for because he’s going to bed at 2 am to 3 am every night, including Sundays," he said.

President Bola Tinubu has alleged that the Nigeria Labor Congress' recent protest was politically motivated.

He said this at the inauguration of the Red Line Rail Project in Lagos on Thursday.

President Tinubu expressed his disapproval of the protests, stating that it was unacceptable to demonstrate within nine months of his administration.

He implored the NLC to wait until the 2027 elections to choose a new president if its members intend to engage in political activism.
