Sometimes, adding a bit of grain to your images makes the overall look a bit more sophsiticated. Everyone is so scared of bumping the ISO and de-noising everthing. A touch of texture here and there could be nice, right?

Portraiture is my favorite genre in photography. It fits my workflow/lifestyle where I can just shoot in a relatively small space in my studio/apartment. It's also very rewarding to be able to extract your subject's inner beauty... outwardly.

Actor's headshots are tricky. You want them to be as natural as possible so casting directors can imagine the role on the subject, but you still want your lighting and editing to accentuate the best parts of your model.

I always warm up my fun shoots with a little snapshot look. Just the onboard flash, blasting it at relatively high power, in front of a white backdrop. It's good practice because there's nowhere to hide with such harsh lighting -- it's all the subject, your framing and the pose!
