So last Friday October 9th Virgin Trains Europe unveiled their livery for their Avelia Stream fleet for their High Speed services from London to Paris Brussels and Amsterdam respectively.

Their 12 x 7 car Avelia Streams being built by Alstom not in France by the way or the UK but in Savigiliano, Italy which on paper is a modern facility for Alstom but actually been producing trains for nearly 150 years.

At this time Virgin aren't giving much away regarding interior design

Their aim is to start from 2030 onwards but of course pending all the legal certifications and agreements are in place by then

So what that means so far here's a bit of a timeline

October 30th 2025: The ORR (Office of Rail and Road Regulator) gave Virgin Trains the green light for the use of the extra capacity space at Temple Mills

August 17th 2026: The ORR gave pre-approval for Virgin Trains for track access on HS1 with agreement from October 1st 2030 until December 31st 2040.

Other agreements with safety clearances needed include GetLink who own the Channel Tunnel plus other operators in France, Belgium and Netherlands.

At the moment Eurostar are still appealing the decision from ORR about giving Virgin Trains the green light however its a tall order to overturn any decision from ORR bit like Open Access Operators in recent years.

Its not just about the 'value for money' which most say is why applications get turned down its about the capacity space on the mainlines especially WCML.

When it comes to HS1 you got plenty available the only issue of course is London St Pancras and I wouldn't be surprised if a re-fit of the security controls and upgrades to departure lounges are going to be required.

Regarding International stations like Stratford, Ebbsfleet or Ashford at first isn't on Virgins list but if say Ashford does get reinstated but would need an overhaul of security controls for the international platforms then Virgin Trains would stop there.

I will do a post on that at some point this week

So whats your take on Virgin Trains Europe do you like their new livery?

Leave your thoughts in the comments below

I will also leave a link from Virgin themselves about the story

So for now take care and have a good one

if you maybe struggling with things in life in general or sometimes nothing is going your way at all on paper it seems all hopeless to the point then you might end up feel very down and stressed about what to do or where to turn to next

Well one person could do with some support at a time like this is ‪@Thenortheast-trainspotter2102‬

Of course out of respect I won't go into details about his issues

If there is one point I would go back to was early in the year around February time and whilst the wet and gloomy weather back then have to say I was in a bit of a bad spot overall.

With my rail line to and from Barnstaple shut down by the weather at the time which turned out to be for nearly 2 months and there wasn't a lot to go on what to do.

The pressure and low moods became more of an issue and its not the first time I have had to face it until one Friday Evening whilst I was at my local church it became too much and I broke down

But luckily I had a little helping hand from a Church Warden who understood my issues and I did open about it and ultimately whilst it took time I did find myself getting back on track.

Sometimes when you are suffering the easiest thing you can end up doing is trying to mask it or hide it and dismiss any issue like everything is fine however in fact your suffering

The longer you mask or hide an issue then the more the pressure and stress will just keep building and from there your decision making starts to go haywire and then ultimately you will reach breaking point.

So when breaking point comes so what to do next even you just want it to end?

Well there is a way is to seek help and talk to someone whether its a charity who can help with Mental Health or your own family and try to open up

Opening up and breaking silence about your problems is of course not an easy task because of the doubts about how you will be judged or trying to say the correct words without being misread.

Of course you might feel a bit frustrated or in some cases can possible get upset and breakdown when you open up but actually thats ok its an important first step.

Once you got that first step of opening up then whilst its not going to solve all your problems at the beginning but its the start of a long road to get better and if it takes months or over an year then thats how long it takes.

At times your probably going to ebb and flow back and forth from positive on some days whilst another days where issues resurface and you may feel like you take a step back.

Also its how you approach and sometimes you may have to approach things another say for example maybe a subject at school your not a fan of but its like hey it is what it is and your going to try even if your not perfect.

The fact is your never going to be perfect at everything but still at least you try

So I will finish by saying this is that whilst keeping your head up, being positive and staying strong can be difficult at the beginning but eventually as time goes by it should become more easier.

So shoutout to Finley on his channel ‪@Thenortheast-trainspotter2102‬ do keep your head up and stay strong

And do sub to his channel and give him some morale support at this time

So that will do for now, be safe, stay upbeat and take care

Next video up today comes from Line 2 on Paris Metro at Couronnes which on paper might sound like a simple station however it’s one with a bit of a troubled history especially in its first 7 months of opening since January 1903.

The shorts video is at 18:00 with the main video not too long being around 3 minutes being up at about 18:45 so do look out for those
