King Harald V of Norway has died at the age of 89. The royal palace announced this morning that the King had passed away peacefully at Oslo University Hospital.

King Charles has since shared a personal tribute to his “dear cousin”, saying he and Queen Camilla learned of his death with “the most profound sadness”.

“For thirty-five years, King Harald served his people with unwavering dedication, guiding Norway through times of great change with warmth and humility,” the King said.

Charles remembered King Harald as a “much-loved kinsman and friend”, whose “kindness, compassion and deep sense of duty echoed from across the sea and across the decades”.

Reflecting on the close relationship between Britain and Norway, the King also highlighted the two countries’ longstanding historical and family ties, including Britain’s recognition of Norwegian independence in 1905 and the bonds strengthened during the Second World War.

“The Queen and I extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to Queen Sonja and all her family, as Britain shares in Norway’s grief at this time of such heartbreaking loss.”

The King and Queen are heading on an Autumn Tour! 🍂

Buckingham Palace has announced that Their Majesties will undertake an Autumn Tour from 27 October to 4 November 2026, including a visit to Antigua and Barbuda for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).

Ahead of CHOGM, King Charles will visit The Bahamas, before undertaking a State Visit to Guyana, marking 60 years of UK-Guyana bilateral relations.

The Palace said the tour will “celebrate communities, cultures and Nature within the Commonwealth family”. 🌍

Princess Eugenie has revealed the name of her baby daughter: Adelaide Elizabeth Annina Brooksbank 💕

Announcing the news on Instagram, Eugenie shared new photos of Adelaide and said the name was chosen in honour of “three people we love and admire past and present”, including the late Queen Elizabeth II.

She added that it also reflects English and Portuguese history, representing “two places we love and call home”.

Adelaide was born earlier this month in Lisbon, Portugal.

Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank have welcomed a baby girl! 👶💗

Buckingham Palace announced that the couple are “delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter”, who was born on Monday, 3 August at 6.20pm at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal.

The baby weighed 6lb 9oz.

The Palace added that King Charles, Queen Camilla and other members of the Royal Family were “delighted to be informed of the news”.
