🎬 My first ever film is now live on YouTube - and free to watch!
I’m proud to share that SISTERS has just been released by @TheDock - Full Documentaries.
I made this film back in 2017, and it follows the powerful stories of the young women of Afghanistan’s first-ever all-female orchestra, Zohra. These brave musicians defied the odds and used music as a tool for freedom, unity, and hope. I hope their stories move you as deeply as they moved me.
I'd be so grateful if you could:

Since making Sisters, I’ve stayed in touch with Negin, Zarifa, and many others from the orchestra. Thankfully, they are now living safely outside of Afghanistan. After the fall of Kabul in 2021, the film was screened in the UK Houses of Parliament, bringing their voices to a wider audience.
That same year, I co-founded the Afghanistan Freeharmonic Orchestra (AFO) with Qudrat Wasefi - a former student and teacher at ANIM to continue raising awareness and supporting displaced Afghan families. In 2025, the AFO performed at the IINE Gala, where $3.5 million was raised for people rebuilding their lives in the U.S.
