CW// Discussion of traumatic event

Hey, sooooo. I don't know quite where to start with this. This is the first "vent" animatic I've made, and tbh, I've been a bit scared to post it (hence it going up in the middle of the night so I don't look at people's first reactions. If I don't heart any comments at first, that is why)

I guess I'll just start with the basics. As I said before, early on this year, I had a traumatic event happen to me. I guess now, I'll expand on that. What happened was that some close friends of mine threatened me with a knife because I didn't want to do something with them, then gaslit me into thinking it was my fault that it happened. As you can imagine, that has left me in a pretty dark place, and I lost my passion for life, my trust in others, and my will to even continue living. 

But, I made it through. Not unscathed, but I'm still alive.

It's only now that I feel like I'm finally healing from what happened, thanks to a lot of therapy, new meds, and the never-ending support from my parents. I made this animatic as a way to kinda tie a bow on my emotions and send them out into the world, and hopefully leave this chapter of my life behind me.

I want you all to know something very important. Keep moving forward. Even when everything feels like it's falling apart, even when the people you thought you could trust betray you, even when you feel like the pain will never go away. Keep holding on, because there will always be someone that will miss you if you're gone. Someone out there loves you, whether it be your family, your friends, or God.

Be happy you're alive, because someone else is happy you're alive too.

Hey everybody, hope you like the short!

I've had this audio saved for these two for so long, you don't even know.

This was very early on in their relationship, when Garnet was at her most volatile due to really not wanting a lumberjack partner, and Finn was taking out his frustration of his whole life being turned upside down out on Garnet by rage baiting her. It turns out sticking two very different and emotionally immature people with each other can lead to conflict, and Arthur and Granny had to step in on multiple occasions to straighten them out and remind them that they are in fact adults that need to talk out their problems.

This incident was probably the worst one they had, because Garnet is VERY protective of her coat, having made it herself when she was a kid and putting her blood, sweat, and more blood into it over the years.

But, the two of them have definitely grown as people and teammates as time went on, and now only try to kill each other on weekends during bar trivia. In fact, if Finn stole Garnet's coat now, she might enjoy the fact it now smelled like him. Totally platonically of course.

Hey everybody, hope you enjoyed the video! Or short, whatever brought you here. If you did come here from the short, I'd recommend checking out the whole video for the context.

Although Olive's first Dusk fight was with Howie at her school, this animatic shows off Olive's proper debut as a superhero. Sure, she didn't have a name or a logo yet, and her suit was a bit rough around the edges, but she knew she had to step in to protect those she could. 

If you were wondering why the Skeleton Gang were accosting a convenience store, they were trying to steal money to buy the new breadsticks at Train Track Tavern, having seen a sign for them upon entering the city. A confused Olive asked Bones Malone why he didn't just steal the breadsticks, and he admitted he didn't think of that. What a bunch of boneheads.


Given that this was early days of Dusk activity, people didn't really believe the witness reports of skeleton mafiosos robbing a store, especially when they checked out the security footage and found it almost completely erased. I wonder who did that? 👁️ Only Virgo was able to find this one frame of a mysterious figure left inside of the tape, although she didn't quite know what to make of it...

Hey everybody, hope you enjoyed the short!

Some may say that Virgo is a bit daft for not realizing her own kid is a superhero, but there's quite a simple reason why. 

When she sees Olive, she still sees that scared little kid in the rain that she has to protect. Someone cold and afraid and needing someone to hold her close lest she fall apart. So the thought of that kid being the one running around fighting monsters just doesn't make sense to her. No matter how many times Olive sneaks out late, or always seems to be where the monsters are, or defends Void's actions to her, Virgo cannot even register her own daughter being the one behind the mask.

No matter what, Virgo will always see Olive as her baby.

Here we have the Wyneken's pet: a living stuffed animal named Mr. Dodo. While a nice little fella, he also works on voodoo doll rules, leading to certain... mishaps like this one. Mr Dodo and Jeremiah may have lost their arms, but JJ seems to be losing his head over it.

Hey everybody, I hope you had a good laugh at the short! Mwahahaha!

If you missed the Q&A videos and are wondering why Byron is crying blood here, well that's his version of blushing. Blushing is just blood rushing to the surface of your face, but unfortunately for Byron, he doesn't have skin to make rosy, so it can cause quite a mess.
