🕯️ PROJECT HAZEL
I’ve been working on something for a while, and I think it’s finally time I told you a little bit about it.
I’ve been calling it an experimental psychological audio experience.
The concept is pretty simple: one listener, one pair of headphones, one uninterrupted experience, one meeting with Hazel.
I’ve shared it privately with a very small number of people while I figured out whether I was comfortable releasing it publicly.
The reactions have been incredible, but also... unexpected.
People have connected with the atmosphere, the sound, and the emotions in ways I honestly didn’t anticipate. A couple of listeners have also reported some genuinely unsettling experiences after listening.
I’m not going to speculate about what caused them. There are probably perfectly ordinary explanations.
But it was enough to make me stop and think.
So for now, Project HAZEL is on hold while I do some more research.
There’s one other thing that happened that I haven’t really talked about.
Recently, I was on a podcast discussing the project. I started talking about Hazel, and suddenly the entire podcast froze. The video went down, the audio went down, everything.
Maybe it was just a technical issue. Probably.
But considering what I was talking about at the time, I couldn’t help wondering if I’d said her name before she was ready for me to.
Maybe that’s ridiculous. Maybe there’s a perfectly reasonable explanation for all of this.
That’s exactly why I’m taking a step back before deciding what happens next.
For now, I’m not sure you’re going to meet Hazel at all.
Maybe she arrives this October.
Maybe she doesn’t.
