Those were the words spoken when Muffy Puppy was brought to our veterinary clinic to be euthanized.
Not because she was dying.Not because she was suffering beyond help.Not because she had no quality of life.
Her elderly owners had entered assisted living, and their son looked at this little senior dog and said, “This is what I
inherited.”
Muffy had painful dental disease. She had eye ulcers that required medication three times a day. She needed care, patience, and someone willing to help her through her senior years.
What she didn’t need was euthanasia.
Thankfully, Dr. Ariel refused.
Because getting old is not a reason to die.Because being inconvenient is not a reason to die.Because every animal deserves compassion.
Ironically, someone even paid to have her groomed before bringing her in. Beautiful curls. Freshly cleaned. Ready for her final appointment.
