I've come on here because something has been on my mind and I'm deciding to speak on it. So I posted a YouTube short a little while ago doing a filter which asked me who were my favourite men, and gave me options to rank such as, religious role model, Grandpa, Dad, brother, pop star, etc... anyways so I said I didn't have a dad and ranked him at bottom, and the comments were filled with "I'm so sorry for your loss" which I then realised people thought he passed away, so I replied to them letting them know he was fine. Another comment said "Actually biologically you do have a father" like I'm not stupid I'm very much aware how this world works 😭. So I decided to clear up the fact that yeah, I acknowledge the fact I biologically do have a dad, I mean everyone does! I explained that my father was not a good man and because of that I haven't seen him since I was nine years old, I didn't go deep into detail because it isn't really any of their business but then people replied "I'm so sorry" "Get better soon" "I'm sorry you're feeling that way" "here for you" Thank you I understand you're trying to be sweet but please stop assuming I am sad. One I saw the most was "It must be hard not to have a dad" "How can you live without a father" "life must be rough without a dad" "Umm but how can you survive without one" "it's Impossible you can't do anything without your dad" Bear in mind I never said I was upset about not having a father, Like I clearly said he was a bad man, why would I want to be around a bad man? It actually makes me upset that you guys think I'm unable to handle life without a father. I'm doing perfectly fine thank you for the backhanded compliments.
And please respect the fact I prefer not to call that disgusting man my father or dad, it makes me extremely uncomfortable. I say parent not parents.
