A short animated film based on the work of H.R. Ocampo, "RICE AND BULLETS". It tells the story of Tura, a man who sets off on a rally for food, and learns the costs of justice and the efforts it takes to protect what is most valuable.
Directed by Karl Furog and Arwen Villaflor, this film was created for their final project in Studio Arts Philippine Arts GE, advised by Dr. Laya B. Gonzales.
I am happy to announce the premiere of this film, and I couldn't have done it without my co-director Karl! We were given one month to complete this project, as it was tasked as a cultural celebration of philippine art history, the visual direction was chosen to align with the styles of filipino neorealists with their colors and composition building the emotional language to bring the story to lide.
decided to get my hands dirty and write and board an entire scene from scratch. hint: its the third installment to the moonlight scenes. so far, my prettiest animatic to date!
