This post may be outside my usual tech content, but I felt this story deserved to be shared.

I know my channel is not a news channel, and most of what I post here is about technology.

But sometimes, a story is bigger than the niche.
Today, I want to take a moment to talk about Captain Smit Machchhar, the Indian Flydubai pilot who showed extraordinary courage during a terrifying mid-air emergency.

After being seriously attacked in the cockpit, Captain Machchhar managed to open the cockpit door, allowing passengers and crew to intervene. The aircraft was carrying 174 passengers, and it eventually made an emergency landing safely in Saudi Arabia.

Technology may help us fly, but in a moment like this, courage and presence of mind can make all the difference.

Respect to Captain Smit Machchhar. 🇮🇳❤️

Wishing him a speedy recovery.

This picture belongs to 2015, when I got rejected by EXL and then by Standard Chartered during my first switch.

I travelled from Indirapuram to Gurgaon by metro early in the morning at 7 AM, and in the evening, all I had were zero results. Nobody who has gone through that phase knows what you feel and what goes through your head. Did you even eat anything that day or not?

But when I look back now, I realise that I eventually worked with both EXL and Standard Chartered between 2018 and 2021. Lately, I’ve realised that maybe this is why they say life comes full circle.

Now, why am I writing all this?
I want to call out to all of you who are preparing for your first switch and facing rejections.
When you go for an interview, never attach your heart to the outcome so much that you forget yourself that day. Instead, think, “What can I control? What can I do?”

Because you are not the decision-maker, the selector, or the HR. All you have in your hands is to give your best shot and leave the rest.
Make it a normal day. Don’t treat it like a day that will decide your fate. Don’t spend the whole day being nervous or sitting on an empty stomach waiting for the result.

And as they say, I would love to believe:
“Everything happens for a good reason. And if it’s not happening, it’s not the end, my friend.”

Keep going. Your story may just be waiting to come full circle.

Heartbroken by the devastating floods that hit Nepal yesterday. So many lives lost, homes washed away, and families shattered.

My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Nepal. Stay strong. 🙏💔
