We’ve noticed a lot of new people around here lately, so we thought it was probably a good time to reintroduce ourselves!

We’re Alex & Beth - married, from the UK, and yes - Rainbird is our real name 🌧️🐦

For the last 15 years, we’ve dedicated our lives to independent music: sharing songs from incredible artists all around the world, and somehow this little community has grown into one of the biggest platforms for indie music discovery 🤯

We’ve travelled taking photos for our videos, met hundreds of artists in person, presented music at Carnegie Hall in New York City and at festivals, made podcasts, live sessions and 24/7 radios… it's all beyond our wildest dreams and we are so grateful for your amazing support.

Away from music, we’re obsessed with everything autumn, pizza, scary movies, nature and all things cozy ✨

It also feels like we're one of the last places left supporting human-made music - we are very careful not to share anything artificially generated, and only feature real, authentic musicians.

So whether you’ve been here for 15 years or you’ve just found us today…

THANK YOU BETWEEN THE TREES FESTIVAL.

After four unforgettable days of presenting amazing independent music in the middle of a forest in Wales, we’re really glad we took these photos since it all feels like a crazy incredible dream.

We’ve spent hours rewriting this post because it’s so hard to put how much this means into words, but we’re going to try…

To be invited back to the festival after our first partnership in 2025 was already an honour, and somehow this year was even more special.

We had the privilege of introducing ten incredible artists and bands on stage. It’s the most surreal thing to discover a phenomenal artist on the internet, share their music countless times over the years and communicate over hundreds of emails, to then finally meet them for the first time and watch them perform the songs that have soundtracked so much of our lives. They were all absolutely brilliant.

And to then have people come up to us to say that they’ve been following us for years, or that they really love a particular artist that we brought to the festival, or told us stories about songs they adore that we helped them to discover… it’s completely beautifully crazy and utterly beyond anything we could have ever expected when we started alexrainbirdMusic all those years ago.

Thank you to everyone at BTT for looking after us, being so kind and trusting us with something so special. If you came up to say hello or simply enjoyed the music from afar, we couldn’t be more grateful.

And even if you couldn’t make it but have ever supported us in the past – thank you. This happened because of you.

There are moments in life where you just need to stop and take it all in.

Later this week, we’ll be back at a music festival, presenting artists for the second year running.

That is absolutely crazy.

We started sharing independent music on YouTube as a hobby, at 16, while at school.

With no plan, no expectations, and absolutely no idea what the heck we were doing.

We’re honestly still making this all up as we go.

But somehow, through our sheer love of music, this little hobby became something much bigger than we ever imagined.

To every independent artist we’ve ever featured, and to all the music lovers in our incredible community, you made this happen.

None of this would exist without you.

So if you’re at Between The Trees Festival this week, we’d love to say hello.

We’re so excited to bring our music discovery offline and into nature.

We will see you in the forest.
