Maee stands for documentation, promotion & propagation of Van Gujjar culture and Gujjari language. Van Gujjar is a nomadic pastoral tribe residing primarily in the northwestern parts of India. This tribe used to practice transmigration in the Himalayan ranges, but with changing time and various circumstances they are forced to abandon their traditional practices, which in turn is a cause for the gradual extinction of their culture and language. Through this channel, we aim to promote Gujjar culture and language.

What is this custom called?
This is a custom prevalent in the Van Gujjar community in which the groom is fed milk by adding ghee and sugar dust to it and the people sitting around the groom also drink milk from the same copper plate(thali).
When the plate is returned, a coin is given in it which is then clinked and taken back.

इस रीति रिवाज को क्या कहा जाता है?
यह वन गुज्जर समुदाय में प्रचलित एक रिवाज है जिसमें दूल्हे को दूध में घी और बुरा डाल कर दूध पिलाया जाता है और दूल्हे के आस पास बैठे लोग भी उसी तांबे की थाली से दूध पीते है।
जब थाली वापिस की जाती है तो उसमें सिक्का दिया जाता है जिसे थाली में खनका कर वापिस ले लिया जाता है।
