Diversity isn't just about who is visible.
It's also about making space for the experiences we can't see.
Millions of people are living and working with invisible illnesses—yet many workplace inclusion and diversity policies still fail to acknowledge them.
When policies don't explicitly account for invisible illnesses, employees are often left to navigate misunderstanding, limited support, and the pressure to "perform" despite what they're facing.
True inclusion isn't achieved by intention alone.
It requires deliberate action, informed leadership, and policies that reflect the realities of the people they serve.
This takeaway from Episode 3 of Suits & Sneakers challenges leaders and organisations to ask an important question:
Who is being left out of your inclusion strategy?
Watch the full conversation with Mpho Mkwanazi: Showing Up When No One Sees What It Costs, now streaming on YouTube.

We'd love to hear your thoughts:
Should invisible illnesses be explicitly included in workplace diversity and inclusion policies?
