Empowering Women Through Awareness & Early Detection | Khordha Road

Bagchi Sri Shankara Cancer Centre and Research Institute (BSSCCRI), in collaboration with Divisional Railway Hospital, Khordha Road, organised a Breast and Cervical Cancer Awareness and Screening Camp on 14 October 2026.

The programme was graced by Dr. Sabita Satpathy, CMS, and led by Dr. Ushashree Das, Consultant – Gynaecologic Oncology.

Screening Highlights:
70 women attended the programme and underwent breast examinations.
33 women underwent Pap smear tests for cervical cancer screening.

The programme strengthened awareness about early detection and the importance of regular cancer screening, reinforcing our commitment to accessible and comprehensive women's healthcare.

Cancer Screening Clinic & Breast Cancer Awareness Programme | NTPC Thermal

Promoting breast health and encouraging early detection are essential steps towards better cancer care.

On 31st October 2026, Bagchi Sri Shankara Cancer Centre & Research Institute (BSSCCRI), Bhubaneswar, joined hands with Sagarika Ladies Club, NTPC, and Ashaloka Hospital, NTPC, to organise a Cancer Screening Clinic and Breast Cancer Awareness Programme at Ashaloka Hospital, NTPC Thermal.

The programme was inaugurated with a welcome address by Mr. Vijay Chand, Head of Project, NTPC.Dr. Saroj Ranjan Sahoo from BSSCCRI addressed the participants, highlighting breast health, preventive care and the importance of early diagnosis.

The screening clinic provided essential medical guidance and further care recommendations to local residents. Two patients were advised to undergo advanced mammography screening, while one patient was referred for specialised follow-up consultation at the BSSCCRI OPD.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Kabibara Pradhan, CMO, NTPC, acknowledging the contributions of the organising teams and medical experts.
Through such community outreach initiatives, BSSCCRI continues to promote cancer awareness, encourage preventive screening and support timely medical evaluation.

Breast Cancer Awareness Programme | Promoting Early Detection and Women's Health

As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Bagchi Sri Shankara Cancer Centre & Research Institute (BSSCCRI), Bhubaneswar, organised a Breast Cancer Awareness Programme on 31st October 2026 at Raghunath Jew Degree College, Cuttack.

The programme was conducted in association with Raghunath Jew Degree College, Shaktishree Empowerment Cell, Cuttack, and Women & Child Welfare, Cuttack.

Dr. Swetaleena Ashe from BSSCCRI highlighted the importance of early detection, regular screening, recognising warning signs and seeking timely medical advice.
The session also addressed social stigma and hesitation surrounding breast health. It encouraged women to prioritise their well-being and seek medical guidance without delay.

Students, faculty members, Mission Shakti representatives and members of the collaborating organizations actively participated in the programme.

Bagchi Sri Shankara Cancer Centre and Research Institute, Bhubaneswar, in association with the Postgraduate Department of Medicine, SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack, organised a CME programme on 28 October 2026 at IMA House, Cuttack.

The scientific sessions featured:
