This is something I wish I didn’t want to post and I had debate whether I should post it or not, but Lahaina, Kaanapali & Pacific Railroad steam engines Anaya and Myrtle have been scrapped in Maui.
They were already damaged by the Maui wildfire sometime in August 2023, and there have been conflicting reports regarding the potential purchases of the steam engines. Unfortunately, the owner wanted everything on the Lahaina, Kaanapali & Pacific Railroad to be sold off, including track, trestles, and ballast.
This was honestly the worst thing I could see first when I opened up Instagram and Facebook after studying for a while.

After all this time, I finally got to see Union Pacific SD70ACE 1996 in the Southern Pacific Daylight paint scheme! Ironically, from the perspective of these photos, 1996 is faced the opposite way like when it appeared in The California Railway Series 5th anniversary part 2. Additionally, I saw a pair of SD70M locomotives moving around, and the recently added Roseville deadline locomotives with 2 GE locomotives that have an uncertain fate.
Since I was out for the Fresh Harvest Buffet in Wheatland, CA, I came across the UC Davis Car Show in the outskirts of Stockton, and have some footage and photos of the food at the buffet that I’ll post on.
Today marked the first time I ever went north of Sacramento and Roseville, as I’ll only go to the east in rare occasions. It was definitely rural most of the time on Highway 99 and 70.

Several Union Pacific Dash 9s, including UP 9696 in the CNW livery, will be rebuilt and sold to CSX.
I know a lot of the original Dash 9s will be gone, but at least 9741 in the CNW livery and UP 9703 aren’t, for now.

I’m going back to my local community college in just a few days, but I’m sure I’ll have time for some of the remastered episodes for Halloween. I have the dates for which they’re premiering, one of which is coming next Friday 9/4!

SP 18 Gets Spooked - 10/9 5 PM western time (I couldn’t find a better title for this. While the plot is somewhat similar to Duncan Get Spooked, I think this might be a bit more scarier, since I was inspired by several horror games after Halloween 2024, such as Fears to Fathom)
Spoilers alert: In the original SP 18 Gets Spooked released for Halloween 2024, there was supposed to be a second part that was written out in July 2025, this time SPNG 9’s perspective. This ended up being abandoned, but a lot of the elements from the 2nd part will be reused to expand the remastered version. Also, there’s a “dream” sequence too. That’s what I’ll say for now.

The recent passing of Dolly Parton made me devastated and hard to believe that she even passed away. It absolutely hurts to lose a legend of the music industry that inspired so many other artists.
I first found Dolly through Hannah Montana, and I must say, she was a favorite of mine on that sitcom. I never watched Hannah Montana as a kid, but I’m grateful that the sitcom introduced me to Dolly Parton. Even beyond Hannah Montana, Dolly Parton was Miley Cyrus’ Fairy Godmother, and she was one of the factors that inspired Miley’s musical career to where she is today.
I remember having a joyful time watching the New Year’s Eve NBC live show with Miley Cyrus and Dolly Parton. There were many songs I enjoy from Dolly Parton, such as Jolene, 9 to 5, and Light of a Clear Blue Morning, for example. Dolly Parton was more than a music artist, she helped out kids in need, and inspired millions to chase their dreams.
May Dolly Parton rest in peace. (1946 - 2026)

There’s a rumor speculating that ATSF 3751 might be relocated to Albuquerque, New Mexico sometime in the future. I’m not sure if this is true, but please note that this may not be true. No idea if I’m supposed to be sharing this, but it was already given out on other social medias. The source came from trainorders.com.
However, the only thing I can say is true are the iconic SoCal private cars hitching on some of the Amtrak coast starlight trains in September and October.

You might be wondering where my Rivarossi SP Cab Forward is after a year I acquired it. There’s an issue with the second pair of driving wheels with the Cab Forward. They keep locking up whenever the cab forward runs and doesn’t even move. I tried lubricating everywhere, and even went inside the shell of the Cab Forward. Unfortunately, I broke a part off of the second pair of driving wheels for the cab forward. On the better side, it still runs, despite having the second pair of wheels locked up. I have clips of it from August 2025 that haven’t been publicly released, so I might compile Summer of 2025 GEBR HO clips later on.
The V&T Inyo 4-4-0 is doing well, but I can’t say the same for the J.W. Bowker. Inyo’s powered tender had a defect with the motor, and Bowker has a tender connector problem that I spent hours testing and swapping out tenders for both of the V&T engines. When I tested Bowker, let’s just say, the tender connector ended up derailing the engine and damaged the side rods. Bowker’s tender ended up going to Inyo with some tender shell exchanges.
