ఆ 25 కోట్ల మంది ఏమి చేస్తున్నారు? నా దేశం బాగుండాలి. నా జాతి బాగుండాలి. నా దేశానికి క్షేమం ఉండాలి అని అడుగుతారా? మరి, ఏమి అడుగుతారు? ఈశ్వరుణ్ణి, నా బిడ్డకు పెళ్లి కావాలి, నాకు ఆరోగ్యం కావాలి, నా కొడుక్కి ఉద్యోగం కావాలి, నా బిడ్డ బాగా చదువుకోవాలి. చిన్న సంసారంలో చిన్న చిన్న కోరికలు అడుగుతారు, అంతటి ఈశ్వరుడిని!

"పూర్వ పుణ్యమని" ఒక మాట అంటూ ఉంటారు. పూర్వజన్మలో చేసిన పుణ్యం వల్ల ఈ జన్మలో ప్రయత్నం లేకుండానే అనేక కోట్ల రూపాయలు కలిసి రావచ్చు. ఏ పూర్వజన్మ పుణ్యఫలం వల్ల ఆ ధనం వచ్చిందో మళ్లీ ఆ పుణ్యం చేయడం చేతనే అది ఉంటుంది, లేకపోతే ఈ జన్మ  మధ్యలోనే అది నడిచి బయటకు వెళ్ళిపోతుంది.

నీవు పూర్వజన్మలో చేసిన పుణ్యం వల్ల వచ్చి నీతో 20 ఏళ్లు ఉన్నాను, ఇప్పుడు వెళ్ళిపోతున్నాను అని చెప్పి వెళ్ళిపోతుంది ధనం కూడా. లేకపోతే ఆ ధనం పరాయి వాళ్ళ పాలవుతుంది. పితృదేవతలు సంతోషించే మార్గంలో కాకుండా ఏదో ఒక మార్గంలో బయటికి వెళ్లిపోతుంది, అనుభవంలోకి రాదు.

"విజయ దశమి" పండుగను జరుపుకున్నా, జరుపుకోకపోయినా, అశుభాన్ని నివారించుకునేందుకు ఆ రోజు కొత్త బట్టలు ధరించడం ముఖ్యం.

"మహాలయ అమావాస్య" రోజున పితృ పక్షం ముగుస్తుంది. కాబట్టి, ఆ మరుసటి రోజు అనగా ఆశ్వయుజ మాసం మొదటి రోజున, తలస్నానం చేసిన తర్వాత అమ్మవారిని పూజించాలి లేదా కనీసం గాయత్రీ మంత్రాన్నైనా జపించాలి, తద్వారా అశుభాలు నివారించబడతాయి.

మాతృమూర్తి యొక్క ప్రాముఖ్యతను తెలుసుకుని, మన తల్లిని ప్రేమించి, ఆమెను సంతోషపెట్టే మార్గంలో నడిచేలా చేయడమే నవరాత్రి పండుగ ఉద్దేశం. కానీ మరోవైపు, ప్రజలు కొన్ని పూలను కొని దుర్గా, లక్ష్మీ, సరస్వతీ దేవుళ్ల విగ్రహాలకు పూజలు చేస్తారు.

మనం ఎప్పుడూ మన తల్లిని కంటతడి పెట్టించకూడదు. తల్లిని ఏడిపిస్తే, ఐశ్వర్యం నశిస్తుందని నమ్ముతారు! కాబట్టి, మీ తల్లికి ఎటువంటి బాధ కలగకుండా చూసుకోవడం మీ బాధ్యత. సీతాదేవిని కన్నీరు పెట్టించినందువల్లే రావణుడి వంశం మొత్తం నాశనమైంది. కాబట్టి, పురుషులు ఎప్పుడూ స్త్రీలను ఏ విధంగానూ కన్నీరు పెట్టించకూడదు మరియు దుఃఖపెట్టకూడదు!

నవరాత్రి పండుగ ఎనిమిదవ రోజున, సరస్వతీ దేవిని ఆరాధిస్తాము. ఆ రోజున అన్ని రకాల పరికరాలు, ఆయుధాలు మరియు ఒకరి వృత్తిలో ఉపయోగించే వస్తువులన్నింటినీ పూజిస్తారు. ఇది ‘సర్వ దేవతా స్వరూపిణి’ అయిన కాళీ మాత తత్వాన్ని సూచిస్తుంది. వీటన్నింటి అంతరార్థం ఏమిటంటే, ప్రపంచంలోని ప్రతి వస్తువులోనూ ఈ దైవత్వం నిక్షిప్తమై ఉంది. అంతటా దైవం వ్యాపించి ఉంటుంది - “విశ్వం విష్ణు స్వరూపం”. ఇది మిథ్య (భ్రమ) కాదు; ఇది పరమ సత్యం. ఈ భావనను ఎల్లప్పుడూ కలిగి ఉంటే, మీరు ఆ అత్యున్నత స్థితిని చేరుకోగలరు!

“యద్భావం తద్భవతి” (ఎలాంటి భావన కలిగి ఉంటే, అటువంటి ఫలితమే లభిస్తుంది). మనం మంచి ఆలోచనలను పెంపొందించుకోవాలి. మనం చేసే పనులన్నీ ఆరాధనగా మారాలి. ఆధ్యాత్మిక జీవితంలో విజయానికి ఇదే రహస్యం!

అతిథి భోజనం చేయకుండా ఉంటే అతడు మన పుణ్యం తినేస్తాడు. అంతకంటే చాలా చవకైనది మంచి భోజనం పది రూపాయలు పెడితే వస్తుంది. అది పెడితే మనకు పుణ్యం దక్కుతుంది. అతిథికి “నాయన నీకు ఏం కావాలి? ఫలహారం చేస్తావా? భోజనం చేస్తావా?” అని అడిగేసి ఇచ్చేయడం చాలా ఉత్తమం.

ఆతిథ్యం పెద్ద దానధర్మాలు క్రిందికి రాదు, అది ఆత్మ రక్షణలో వస్తుంది. బాగా గుర్తు పెట్టుకోవాలి మన పుణ్యం ఏమైనా ఉంటే దాన్ని రక్షించుకోవడానికి ఆతిథ్యం.

అతిథి ఎవరైనా కావచ్చు అతిథికి కులగోత్రాలు లేవు. ఉత్తమ అధమ లక్షణాలు అతిథికి లేవు, అతిథిగానే ఉన్నాడు ఆ క్షణానికి. అతడికి ఇతర యోగ్యత అయోగ్యతలు పాటించరాదు, అది ధర్మం. 

ఎవరు ఏ మతస్తులైన, కులస్తులైన భగవంతుడు అతన్ని మన దగ్గరికి పంపించాడనే భావంతో అన్నం పెట్టండి, చేతనైంది ఏది ఉంటే అది పెట్టండి. ఇలా మనం జీవిస్తే ఇతర మతస్థులకు కూడా మనం ఆదర్శవంతం అవుతాము. మనలాగ వాళ్ళు ఉండలేకపోతే మనది గురుస్థానము వారిది శిష్య స్థానము అవుతుంది. మనతో నేర్చుకుంటారా ఈ ధర్మం ప్రచారము అవుతుంది. రెండు లాభమే మనకి.

ఒక రహస్యం ఏమిటి అంటే, "హింసాకాండలో" హింసించే వాడు కూడా దుఃఖ పడుతున్నాడు, అది అతనికి తెలియదు. దుఃఖాన్ని కలుగజేస్తున్ననాను అని అనుకుంటున్నాడు కానీ వాడు దాన్ని అనుభవిస్తున్నాడు. అది ఎలా తెలుస్తుంది? ఈ హింసాకాండ అయిపోయాక తనను" తాను ఏకాంతంగా చూసుకున్నప్పుడు, తను చేసిన హింస తనను కూడా బాధిస్తుంది అని తెలుసుకుంటాడు", ఇది ఒక రహస్యం.

అందరూ అనుకుంటారు వాడు హింసా భావంతో ఇంకొకడిని చంపి, దుఃఖం కలుగజేస్తున్నాడు అని అనుకుంటారు, అలా కాదు. ఇంక్కొకలకు కలిగే దుఖాన్ని తాను అనుభవిస్తున్నాడు. దాన్ని బాహ్య రూపకంగా "కాలాంతరమందు అనుభవంలోకి వచ్చినప్పుడు పాప ఫలము" అంటున్నాము, మనము.

పాప ఫలం ఎక్కడి నుండి వచ్చింది? అంటే, ఇంకొకడిని చంపాడు, పీడించాడు, అనేక మందిని చంపాడు, పీడించాడు అది ఎప్పుడో అయిపోయింది కదా! ఇప్పుడు, దీనికి ఫలం రావడం ఏమిటి? అంటే, వాడు చేసిన హింస యొక్క బీజం వాడిలో ఉంది. తనలో వచ్చిన బీజమే వృక్షరూపంలో వచ్చింది. తను చేసిన హింస యొక్క బీజం తనలో ఉండి కాలాంతరమందు బాహ్యమైన శిక్షగా, బాధగా ప్రకటికృతం అవుతుంది.

Guruji speaks - Truth can speak only the TRUTH: "Importance of Saran Navaratris" (Part1 of 2)

The months of ‘Asweeyuj’ and ‘KAARTHIK’ are the ‘Sarathkaal’. The first nine nights of ‘Asweeyuj’ are known as ‘Saran Navaratris’ where as the first ten days are known as ‘Dasa Hora’ or ‘Dassera’. The ‘Purusha Sooktha’ states ‘Greeshma Idhma Sarathdhavihi’ meaning that the Sarathkaal is like the ‘Havis’(the Ghee) of Yagna(sacrifice). Of the several ingredients used for performing Yagna, ‘Havis’ is very important. When used in Yagna it transforms from its gross form to a subtle form known a ‘Apoorva’(meaning the one with no past), and shrouds the soul to yield the required result at the appropriate time.

All the descriptions of Purusha Sooktha are in the form of ritualistic sacrifices(Yagna). The result of that Yagna is Praja(the humanity). For an ordinary person the result of Yagna is in a mundane form. If the Havis(or Ghee) returns again in its physical form it is of no significance. That getting transformed into a subtle form and returning, is incomprehensible. There lies the mysterious dynamic principle.

What is pervading everything in equanimity is the dynamism (Chaitanya). Activating everything from an ant to the creator equally is the potential form (chetana) of this dynamism(Chaitanya). Whosoever worships such a Chaitanya, the resulting experience is just the same, may be it is the creator or you or me. But the acquisition of its manifestations such as strength, wisdom etc., depend on the individuality. Since the Dynamism (unqualified) is just the same everywhere achieving the Control of even a part is just the same as controlling of everything.

This is because essentially the same pervades all. The unqualified Brahman is beyond all worship. The Dynamism which has the all pervading nature of Brahman is amiable for worship. That is the real causal principle. Even though the results can be obtained through Gods(Devaas) by performing Yagna the real source is only this Dynamism.

The manifestation of Devi as a result of invocations by Devaas(/Gods) is also described in the form of Yagna as “Chidagnikunda Sambhootha Sudeha”(possessing the divine form raising out of the sacrificial fire of Chitt-Consciousness). The description of the upraising of this Divine form of Devi begins sequentially from the crown, forehead etc., After Her complete manifestation suddenly there appears, from no where, crores of Goddesses of similar form as Her, mounted on horses with several weapons.

They are in various postures with several expressions such as ferociousness, captivating, kind, boon-bestowing etc., All these are really the personifications of Gods’ (Devaas) desires. If Devi is only in a ferocious form, she may destroy all, including Gods (Devaas). Hence Gods have schemed Her manifestation possessing ferocious form for enemies and with boon-bestowing form towards them. Such a careful planning was done by high intellectuals as Brihaspathi, Indra etc., (To be continued...)

Guruji speaks - Truth can speak only the TRUTH: "Importance of Saran Navaratris" (Part2 of 2)

This period ‘Sarathkaal’ is very important and useful. That is why one wishes for himself through the Vedic hymn as ‘Jeevena Saarada Shatham etc.,’ meaning that ‘may I live for hundred Sarathkaals, may I enjoy hundred Sarathkaals etc.,’. During this period Sun enters the Tula Raasi part of Zodiac. This part is the Brahma’s abode who is our creator. Sun appears to the dwellers of this planet opposite to this part. Sun is the causal principle of soul for us. This means that this is an appropriate time for worshipping and hence glorifying, in the soul, the dynamism responsible for the creation. Such a result leads to the experience of unqualified Brahman(Nirguna).

There has been in the past a tradition of performing this worship with a vow for forty five days ending with the beginning of the month ‘Margasira’. In those days the beginning of an year was being Counted from the month of Margasira. Sri Krishna has, hence, mentioned in Gita that He is the month of Margasira amongst the twelve months indicating that He is really the beginning of everything. As per this calculations the vow of worship during Sarathkaal ends for the year with the desire that the New Year must begin with peace and prosperity.

All this worship is essentially Taantric. The names describing the several aspects of Devi are highly meaningful. One can really enjoy performing this worship leisurely, understanding and conceiving the meanings of all these names.

The name “ Kameswara Mukhavalokana Kalpitha Sri Ganeshaya namah” describes the creation of Maha Ganapathi. Puranaas, of course, describe Ganapathi’s creation as Shakthi putting life into a form made out of dough. For creating Maha Ganapathi the Goddess needed a second entity since she was existing all alone. She, then, projected her own Self outside which is Kameswara and when looking at Him their eyes met and spontaneously gave raise to the creation of a Tejas which is Maha Ganapathi.

She is also described in another name as “Jagati Kaanda Kandarai namah” meaning that she is the cause of the Tree of Jagath, the world.

The name “Unmesha Nimishotpanna Bhuvana valayayai Namaha” is also highly meaningful. It means with opening and closing during the winking of Her eye all the worlds are created and dissolved. One can get marvelled by this concept of Her time Consciousness relative to us.
