KUTX Austin

Brigitte Calls Me Baby returns to Austin for ACL Fest Weekend 2! They performed live in KUTX's Studio 1A on September 24, 2024.

This session captures the band while on tour in support of their debut LP, *The Future Is Our Way Out*. Recorded in Nashville with Grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb, the album channels big-hearted, full-throttle rock ’n’ roll through songs that feel feverish, swaggering, and emotionally direct.

2026 NPR Tiny Desk Contest winner Cure for Paranoia perform live in KUTX Studio 1A June 24, 2026! Catch them live Weekend 1 of ACL Festival in October!

Dallas’ Cure for Paranoia have spent years turning heads with a genre-blurring sound that pulls from alternative hip-hop, soul, funk, and rap. The Hole Story was recorded live at the legendary Hole in the Wall in Austin, Texas.

Kevin Russell has had a few musical chapters, from The Picket Line Coyotes to The Gourds to Shinyribs. Kevin and his fellow musicians were staples at Hole in the Wall in the 90s and his band The Gourds’ regular gig got so packed to they raised the cover from $5 to $7 to mitigate some of the crowd, a move that caused a bit of controversy and accusations of being “capitalists pigs.”
